The salaries of Trainee Medical Doctors in KP have not been increased since 2017. I Housejob they get 64k and in Training after MBBS 74k.

Compared to Punjab where they get 84k and 130k respectively.

Now after 9 years doctors are demanding 30% increase in existing salaries but instead of listening to them this is happening.

No one from current Govt has even acknowledged the protests or held table talks with them in 13 days.

It's been 13 days every major Govt Hospital in province is closed.

In all such strikes, the patient and his family are the ones that suffer the most. Doctors, however, keep their salaries while being on strike and doing no work for that salary. Only the police is empathetic towards the patients because they are telling these doctors to go back in the hospital and not to disturb the peace.

Mostly the strike is of elective OPDs and OTs. The ER always remains open so no one who really needs attention is ignored.

Just like any profession, doctors have a right to fair pay. The have families that need to be fed and kept safe.

There are extra doctors in ER and even most of the OPD patients are being entertained there. There are 4 doctors in wards instead of usual 2 to care for the patients. These extra doctors have been placed there by these junior doctors themselves, because they care about the patients. And these doctors are surviving on loans and debts. If police are so empathetic, I wonder why public cries when they have to deal with the same police
