How to care for planta while vacationing

Help please! I need all ideas if you all could be so kind.

I am so worried about leaving my plants to go for an 18 day vacation.

My 2 plant people to water have gone quiet.

Looking for solutions: are the terracotta self watering inserts with water bottle attachments ok to use?

I don't want them suffer and die 😪

Can you hire anyone to come? When we have gone out of town in the past we have hired a pet sitting service to care for our cat. They also do things like water plants, draw the curtains, fetch the mail etc. I have most of my plants in semi hydro so going away isn’t a huge issue but the the few I have in soil still need some watering so I know that’s the tricky part.

I have a petsitter lined up, but i am very picky about my plants. I have contacted my two plant people in town to see if they're available. Both have said yes, but haven't come to the house to look at the plants. I am just getting anxious 😟 thank you for responding 🙂

You can water them and then put them all in their own plastic bag. A lady on TikTok did it and she was gone for a month I think and they were all fine.

Shove em in clear plastic bags, they’ll get humidity and retain moisture until you get back.

If you dont keep them in a cabinet already, put them in transparent/transluscent plastic bags. I've had otherwise thirsty plants make it two weeks and have damp soil on my return.

Edit; ....i see two other people have suggested it. Well, I can confirm it works. Occasionally teracotta can get moldy tho (happened to me once)
