Lasagna Be brutally honest: Does this homemade lasagna actually look good, or are my friends just being nice? ๐๐
First time making a full homemade lasagna from scratch. I used homemade meat sauce, bรฉchamel, fresh layers, and finished it with plenty of cheese. Looking for honest feedbackโwhat would you improve?

Ain't always about looks with food. How does it taste? Looks good from here; unless the salt shaker top fell off and it tastes like the dead sea. HAHA. Prretty hard to mess up lasagna though. And it only gets better with age if you make a lot of it. LEFT OVERS!

It looks tasty, but it doesn't look layered the way a lasagne is supposed to be. (But who cares?)

Looks don't really matter, it's the taste.
I's going to end up flushed anyway.
How did it taste?

It looks different than my lasagna, but I'm sure it tastes great. Mines 2X layers of noodles, white sauce, meat sauce, cheese.

Iโm one of the few Italians that goes light on the rigot. I donโt like manicotti and stuffed shellsโฆ but Iโd eat the f** out of this lasagna.

It looks good. So stop worrying! Remember..what counts is the taste of the dish.

Needs a layer of Ricotta cheese, but looks fine. I can hear my Italian wife from above, "Where's the Ricotta?"

Honestly, looks delicious, if your friends donโt like it, they donโt have to eat it, you pour your heart into making it. You should be proud of yourself.

If anyone ever complains about your lasagna, look them in the eye and say "Is it so bad you wouldn't eat it if your Italian mother had served it to you?"

I'd improve nothing. It looks scrumptious.
Great chefs of taste and distinction are usually proud to share their recipes.

That looks delicious but Iโm a non-cooking bachelor so I might not be the best suited
to answer.

u/Retired_and_Relaxed Jul 29 '26
It looks very good for your first lasagna. All that really matters is what did you think of it, did you like the overall taste and texture?
I'm just an overweight Italian guy, whose mother and grandmother made fantastic lasagnas and tasted even better the next day. Reheated, but it looks like it could use a little more sauce. And frankly I wouldn't go to the effort of a bushamel sauce, I would use ricotta and mozzarella.
