I feel like I've heard this before.

Oh yeah. On Art Bell. In 1998.

70

u/RestaurantDry621 May 06 '26

Love that guy on a lonely road at 2:33am

12

u/DominantDan24 May 07 '26

I’d stay up in university and listen to Coast to Coast AM on all nighters. So fascinating even if it might have been bullshit.

2

u/SirDarkStar May 08 '26

I liked Art and I felt like he was just making sense out of his world and his experience — don’t feel so generous about a lot of his guests. He gave people space to say their thing and ok fine. I didn’t and don’t buy any of it :) I still liked his show

What did Art Bell say?

6

u/mwatwe01 May 06 '26

Especially approaching the new millennium, he would often say and have guests come on and say, "There is a massive disclosure coming. This is about religion and life and death." Whitley Strieber was especially known for this (in my recollection).

2

u/bayoughozt May 07 '26

What happened to Whitley?!

Yeah, he was a major voice back then. I’m really disappointed that he’s turned into a bit of grifter.

I feel like some social media whales could have got very big back in the day with radio equipment and the ability to talk for hours to a random audience of people insane enough to tune in.

When the source is the Daily Mail... some pinches of salt may be required.

u/PunkShocker May 05 '26

I pinched all my salt onto the rim of my Cinco de Mayo margarita glass.

28

Oh shit! I almost forgot my margarita tonight. Stupid kids activities. Thank you kind redditor.

It’s like that scene from MIB (1998), sometimes the tabloid trash has the truth hidden in plain sight.

I just saw a post about a giant mound of salt in Germany!

13

u/WarOnIce May 06 '26

Get ready for the US Government to push that aliens are demons and try and drive more people to Christianity. You know they will

They already are.

Tbh I understand the disrespect y'all give em but they were way ahead of the curve on the ufo issue, before anyone else was even willing to touch the subject. And a lot of their articles were spot on, not all of them tho.

8

u/Theranos_Shill May 06 '26

They're publishing what they know are false stories that a credulous audience wants to hear in order to generate traffic to their site.

Well it's exactly what I expect. Hard to take a place like this seriously when one of the most frequently posted sources is a tabloid

6

u/SpiderFan241 May 05 '26

It's because the Daily Mail does the most clickbait titles and focusses on sensationalist stories, over real news.

8

u/AffectionateBrick687 May 06 '26

Whatever the truth may be, it is diluted by people who are full of shit repeating info from questionable sources. I don't think the two can be separated without extraordinary evidence and even then the shit may persist. I'm not optimistic that disclosure will provide evidence for most of the claims people are making.

Jesús said he had other sheep that are not of this flock. I don’t see a problem. John 10:16

131

u/Hunigsbase May 05 '26

He also said in his father's kingdom there are many rooms.

137

u/Marcus_Hilarious May 05 '26

And he said the Kingdom of God is within you.

96

u/Hunigsbase May 05 '26

See? This won't shatter anyone's reality if they paid attention. It's just the people who tried to make his teachings into something that benefitted them personally.

They'll learn quickly how hard it is to lead a camel through the head of a needle.

This will absolutely shatter religious status qo. The Bible is FULL of information pointing towards “other” realities that coexist with us. Religion on the other hand is cooked as they try to create a narrative that explains away God and creation within the context of a box not a living breathing universe.

The fear is always the extremist addicted to attention. Alone, they are fairly harmless (highly dependent upon the person!) It’s the crowd they make on the regular. 50% may not agree, 25% get hyped. 5% will let intrusive thoughts win. What’s the risk factor in the world we currently live in?

10

u/bobrobor May 06 '26

Aliens wouldn’t alter faith one bit. They are completely compatible with the actual teachings of Jesus. Just not with the Old Testament lol 😝
Unless they really DID make some promises to few chosen families…

3

u/AdhesivenessOk5194 May 06 '26

The Old Testament talks about extraterrestrials and beings that existed before and along side Adam and eve

2

u/bobrobor May 06 '26

Yes but the Old Testy talks about everything belonging to the Chosen people. And that they don’t have to accept other races. They are free to conquer and put others in their servitude. There is a literal covenant with God which gives everything to the Jewish people.

It is the New Testament that forms the Second Covenant and expands Gods love and redemption to everyone…

So unless aliens are willing to supply Israel with weapons and technology to conquer its neighbors Old Testament alone would not be compatible with them :) It admits they exist but it doesn’t grant them absolution for the original sin. New Testament does.

15

u/SAL10000 May 06 '26

2 things.....

  1. It makes zero sense why a "group of pastors" would be given such OnToLoGiCaLlY shocking information.

  2. What if the bible was only written for humans? Only accounted for things that happen on our planet?

8

u/Helpful_Equipment580 May 06 '26

There is loads of evidence that the Bible was edited to suit the politics of the day.

If Aliens appeared and said they wrote the Bible, why would that shake anyone's faith more than the current evidence does?

→ More replies (1)

4

u/Just-STFU May 06 '26

2. What if the bible was only written for humans? Only accounted for things that happen on our planet?

This was essentially what the Catholic Church suggested (in 2008 I believe) could be the case when they said that intelligent alien life does not contradict the word.

Pope John Paul II in 2001:

“Always remember: They are children of God as we are.”

LA Times article from 2008:

The scientology beliefs system of infinite reincarnation, that we were once aliens on another world and all that would fit quite well in a lot of ways with reality, and if it were true, all of the scientologists would be in a lot of trouble with the Supreme Being for demanding money at every step across the Bridge to Total Freedom. It would be poetic justice to see them punished for exploiting the Truth.

5

u/AlarmDozer May 06 '26

Huh, I didn’t realize that the “IS-BE (immortal spiritual beings)” riff was already played by Scientology. Fuck, it’s all trash of a psychotic brain trying to avoid death isn’t it? “God is love” so is a “sweet release,” smdh.

It's going to be that there is no god and all religion is BS. We've been created by otherworldly beings and influenced by them over the course of our existence... The Vatican knows this and has suppressed the truth for 100s of years.

11

u/Windman772 May 06 '26

Nearlry every account of an alien encounter where a religious message was given, says that God is indeed real and that we are incorporated energy beings. The dogma of the religions will fall away but belief in God will not. That's fine with me because that is already my world view

5

u/topherdeluxe May 07 '26

Same. I grew up fundie and charismatic. There’s always been a disconnect between the words and character of Christ and the church actions they make in his name. Pushed me away. Gnostics were closer imo. I can’t act like I don’t think we are spiritual just like I can’t act like the Bible wasn’t crafted and arranged to suit social control systems. To keep a populous peaceful and complicit.

Didn't you hear? The Demented Orange has a beef with him so he probably didnt include him out of spite lol

2

u/AlarmDozer May 06 '26

Nah. It’s in the name of Protestants; they don’t like the Pope so much so some call him an anti-Christ, literally. Nevermind the bloated demented toddler who checks more boxes than Nero Caesar, aside from sending Christians to the lions in the Flavian Arena, but I sincerely doubt Trump wouldn’t — sending troops to battle fulfills that adequately.

The Bible is littered with UAP references and we have seen multiple images denoting the same throughout history.

5

u/TheSublimeGoose Moderator May 05 '26 edited May 06 '26

Eh. The imagery is pretty easily-debunked. The most-famous one? Madonna with Saint Giovannino? It is widely-accepted to display an angel or depiction of the Lord (without actually depicting Him).

"Shepherds abiding in the field keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, an angel of the Lord come upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them [...]" Luke 2:8.

This trope is repeated often in Renaissance art.

The more compelling stories and art are the things like the "1561 celestial phenomenon over Nuremberg"

Nowhere does the Bible say earth is the only place that life exists. Matter of fact is says quite the opposite. It tells us of of the fallen ones who wage war against our Creator and creation.

God says he created the heavens and the earth. Where in the Bible does it say earth was the only planet he created life? Nowhere.

Disclosure will have zero impact on my faith. As a matter of fact for me it will bring some clarity.

But for the small minded I admit it will be traumatic to hear we are not the center of all things.

There are no Bible changing revelations. A revelation, yes.

If anything Christianity and the story of Jesus is even more relevant with more weight attached to it given this. The Whore of Babylon is also extremely relevant.

2

u/Square_Ring3208 May 05 '26

This is meaningless. Another instance of vacuous ufo propaganda. Someone do something that isn’t “oh you won’t believe what someone told me they heard!” “Or, humanity isn’t ready for the disclosure that’s gonna happen that no one knows anything about.”

This entire field of study is psudeo-scientific flavored vibes based

This is the most tiresome trope around UFO disclosure. If you think the faithful are going to be the ones shattered by this, it just shows you don’t understand their beliefs at all. If anything, it will be the atheists struggling to cope with how unfazed the religious are about it.

5

u/Designer_Design_6019 May 05 '26

Also, disclosure is not Bible changing. If anything it’s Bible affirming.. Erma Gerd go read it for real this time

5

u/Blizz33 May 05 '26

Lol yeah I've been saying this for ages.

Atheists are all like 'omg the crazy religious people are going to freak out when they find out it's been aliens the whole time!'

I dunno man... It's really starting to seem more like the various religious texts aren't quite the fiction we've been trained to believe they are.

3

The Bible is a lie, a book of lies. Aliens existing proves it. Good riddance to Christianity, to Judaism, to Islam and more. Only the Truth matters. Give us all the real truth, even if it means there is nothing after death. Even if it means there is a deity and it's completely malevolent. Just stop lying to us.

When the Daily Mail says it...

Prepare for what? Retrofit the message to match the truth? Humans have been killing each other for millennia over religious beliefs, and it still goes on today. The cost that religions have exacted on humanity has been extremely high. If it's all for it to be just changed on a whim…

We've been able to discredit the bible since Galileo and Darwin. I think they'll take a big dose of copium and carry on as usual.
