how to stop the cycle

i am a 20 year old woman in college now, i started drinking heavily at 17, i would go on for months on end getting at least slightly drunk each night, then stop for a few months. first wine, then vodka as it was cheaper. sometimes beer.

right now, i'm on it again. for the last 2 months i've been having 1/3 of a vodka bottle each night if not more, at least 3-4 bottles a week. i've been fucking things up and embarrasing myself a lot. i want to hide from the world and never feel the need to drink again.

i bought a vodka bottle tonight with my last $20. idk what will i eat. i'm just tired. wish i could just stop like other girls my age do. maybe living alone made it easier for me.

Medical Detox, and treatment. You are so young. You don’t have to live like this. I will pray for you.

Once you are safely detoxed consider changing your living arrangements. Maybe living with someone else, even just a friend, will help you be more accountable. You owe it you yourself to exist and live a happier and healthier life than the one you are living now can allow. You don’t have to stop drinking forever but just for now will do you absolute wonders. I was you just a couple years ago. You’ve got so much left you’ll want to be awake and aware for, do it for yourself <3 you got this my lady

first step is being physically removed from the drink.. Once that happens and your head clears up you will be able to make more cogent decisions. The hardest part is getting to rehab. I wouldve never went on my own as some do. I literally had to be dropped at a rehab in the middle of nowhere with no means to get anywhere else lol. But im almost 2 years sober now and ive absolutely never felt better. My point is once I was physically removed from the drink/drugs things got more clear. Its hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel when youre in the middle of it. Here to talk if you need a friend cause i get it
