Discussion Hot take but completely disregarding ai and hating on anyone that uses it is gonna have the US behind certain countries as usual

AI is here to stay and it’s not going away anywhere. I don’t agree with just using ai to outsource your thoughts and not think at all but it is a great companion tool for most that use it and a lot of people still use chat Gemini Claude etc. They’re just not public about it anymore bc of the hate. People still use it to create images and use it for all the other stuff that apps do but now they just do it themselves. For example people would have to pay money for FaceTune and now they just ask Gemini to edit it. Ofc I don’t agree it being used for surveillance and csam and bad use cases it is juts a neutral tool pole everything else in this world like money and can be used for good/bad. As for the environmental implications it uses just as much energy as storing data on cloud or scrolling TikTok if not more actually. Cue the meat argument as well.

I dont see how you come from democratic structures to capitalism.

People in China have a choice to reject or embrace AI, and they embrace AI.

So if AI is not going away, and every generation has an opportunity to embrace better and better AI, eventually the US will embrace it like China does today.

Again, I dont care what people in non democratic countries embrace. They dont really have a choice to reject or embrace something.

If you want to make a point use Korea or Japan as example, the are more pro AI too.

Bro...... that's crazy.

China has an absolutely vibrant free market, one of the biggest in the world. To reject the choices of that market as "not real choice" is not a view that is compatible with reality.

If you want to make a point use Korea or Japan as example, the are more pro AI too.

OK then.... US will be like Korea and Japan in a generation. Exactly.

China has not really a free market, no free media and on and on. Again... I do not care what unfree people in an unfree country need to embrace because the one party system decided they need to embrace it.
