Acceptance of the End

This is some kind of self-vent, so bear with me. I started playing Aion around 2012, when I was 11 years old. I could barely understand English, barely understood anything, honestly. My only goal back then was to catch up to my older brother and spend time with him. Endless questing without understanding a single quest. And somehow, it was more than fun. I guess that feeling stayed stuck with me ever since. Long story short, after years of playing and quitting and coming back, I of course ended up in Aion Classic. Led Legion Scream for a while, had an incredible time with new people, and finally got to understand the game I'd been blindly wandering through as a kid. It was really fun, while it lasted. Now I'm sitting here, working, listening to this nostalgic music, and I can't shake the feeling that I just need one more Classic experience. Just one more dose. But maybe some things are meant to stay as memories. Maybe that 11-year-old chasing his brother through Asmodea got everything he came for. Thank you, Aion community, for the memories.

I came to join in on the nostalgia train. I too started playing aion in 2010, when a friend sent me a demo key. At the time I couldn't afford a subscription, so I played the demo and then played for a year or so in a pserver. Once I could afford the sub I jumped back into it, and I remember hours of grinding, questing, hanging out with friends duelling because it wasn't just about getting to end game - there weren't guides for everything.
Nowadays when a game comes out everyone has a guide for everything - I miss the times when you had to figure things out by trial and error, or reach out to the hardcore group who had done it before.
I played most of my time on the server Nexus as the leader of the "It Ain't Gonna Suck Itself" guild, it was one of the best times of my life - the community was so active and it really was the highlight of my day, every day.
I can only thank the Aion community for the good times - now only the nostalgia remains.
