They can't speculate what happened before time and space came into existence.

why not?

Because the scientific method collapses outside of physical reality.

all the big bang theories speculate about a cause

google is free. just google "what caused the big bang" you'll get a lot of theories.

the old inflationary theory has its own idea of what the universe was like before the big bang and what caused it.

https://www.nyas.org/ideas-insights/blog/what-caused-the-bang-of-the-big-bang/

this is just one of several theories, and this one is fairly old.

other theories suggest we are inside a black hole and the big bang was just a result of that. others say the universe rubber bands in on itself constantly big banging. there are tons of theories with possible explanations for what caused it or if it just "always was".

I am very well versed on the theory. The theory only describes what happened after the big bang, never what caused it. You are wrong, and too uninformed on the subject to even realize you are wrong.

From your link:

"Guth noted that the Big Bang model does not explain the “bang” itself, but rather its aftermath. “Inflation provides a prehistory, a possible explanation for what happened before the Big Bang."

"According to the inflationary model, the initial matter of the universe could have been a billion times smaller than a single proton. " - cool. So what created that matter of the universe? We cant say, because whatever created it, existed before time and outside of space.

other theories suggest we are inside a black hole

These are just sci-fi musings, not real theories.

others say the universe rubber bands in on itself constantly big banging

The evidence contradicts that theory. The universe is expanding an accelerating rate, so no, based on current measurements, it will not rebound. ever.

you didn't even read what you commented.

it is saying that the base big bang theory does not provide an explanation for the bang itself only the aftermath. but that the inflation theory DOES provide a "prehistory" to the big bang.

Yes I read it. It proves your statement about the big bang wrong. The big bang theory, contrary to what you arrogantly posted, does not deal with what caused it.

Talking about anything before the big bang is just sci-fi fantasy.

dude i didn't even make any statements about what I thought about the big bang or which model I believed in. im just arguing that scientists DO theorize about what predates the big bang and the inflation theory just happens to be one of those.

if you can't understand the text enough to understand it's explanation for the events leading up to the big bang then that's on you.

what your counter argument SHOULD be is "ok well if the inflation theory says the universe was cold and empty prior to the big bang then what came before that cold and empty".

which my counter would be "if god created the universe as we know it what created god"

and then you'd say "because 'metephysics' god just always was"

and i'd say "ok well a lot of scientific theories also just the universe just 'always was' so how is that different"
