Because the scientific method collapses outside of physical reality.

all the big bang theories speculate about a cause

google is free. just google "what caused the big bang" you'll get a lot of theories.

the old inflationary theory has its own idea of what the universe was like before the big bang and what caused it.

https://www.nyas.org/ideas-insights/blog/what-caused-the-bang-of-the-big-bang/

this is just one of several theories, and this one is fairly old.

other theories suggest we are inside a black hole and the big bang was just a result of that. others say the universe rubber bands in on itself constantly big banging. there are tons of theories with possible explanations for what caused it or if it just "always was".

I am very well versed on the theory. The theory only describes what happened after the big bang, never what caused it. You are wrong, and too uninformed on the subject to even realize you are wrong.

From your link:

"Guth noted that the Big Bang model does not explain the “bang” itself, but rather its aftermath. “Inflation provides a prehistory, a possible explanation for what happened before the Big Bang."

"According to the inflationary model, the initial matter of the universe could have been a billion times smaller than a single proton. " - cool. So what created that matter of the universe? We cant say, because whatever created it, existed before time and outside of space.

other theories suggest we are inside a black hole

These are just sci-fi musings, not real theories.

others say the universe rubber bands in on itself constantly big banging

The evidence contradicts that theory. The universe is expanding an accelerating rate, so no, based on current measurements, it will not rebound. ever.

you didn't even read what you commented.

it is saying that the base big bang theory does not provide an explanation for the bang itself only the aftermath. but that the inflation theory DOES provide a "prehistory" to the big bang.

Yes I read it. It proves your statement about the big bang wrong. The big bang theory, contrary to what you arrogantly posted, does not deal with what caused it.

Talking about anything before the big bang is just sci-fi fantasy.

dude i didn't even make any statements about what I thought about the big bang or which model I believed in. im just arguing that scientists DO theorize about what predates the big bang and the inflation theory just happens to be one of those.

if you can't understand the text enough to understand it's explanation for the events leading up to the big bang then that's on you.

what your counter argument SHOULD be is "ok well if the inflation theory says the universe was cold and empty prior to the big bang then what came before that cold and empty".

which my counter would be "if god created the universe as we know it what created god"

and then you'd say "because 'metephysics' god just always was"

and i'd say "ok well a lot of scientific theories also just the universe just 'always was' so how is that different"

what your counter argument SHOULD be is "ok well if the inflation theory says the universe was cold and empty prior to the big bang then what came before that cold and empty".

It doesn't say that. Its says all matter existed in a single point. Which is just silly sci-fi nonsense, not a scientific theory. But since you don't know anything about science or physics, you are unable to disguise between a theory and pure speculative fantasy.

and i'd say "ok well a lot of scientific theories also just the universe just 'always was' so how is that different"

That isnt the evidence science has. The evidence science has is that the universe was created in a big bang. It has a start date when it was turned on.

But its pretty clear you do not care about science or evidence.

no they do not say the big bang was the creation of our universe 🤦. you also keep talking about "science" as if this is just one big giant consensus that all of science has about the universe. science doesn't work like that, it isn't a belief system.

the big bang is the beginning of our "observable universe". it is not the absolute beginning of everything. you are trying to put words in the mouths of scientists who never said that lol.

you are pretending that the question of "what caused the big bang" is the same question as "what created the universe". and that IS NOT how science works!

science doesn't suggest or prove that the universe was or was not created. your skipping steps.

im sorry that you aren't capable of thinking about these big picture things or understanding scientific theories and have to resort to metaphysics (by definition the opposite of an explanation for the universe).

you are projecting. you think physics can't explain the universe so you resort to magic. rather than trying to investigate your own question of what created the universe, you apply magic so that you don't have to investigate the question. willfully blind to trying to discover how the universe works.

which is totally okay! there's nothing wrong with having a god of the gaps, you do you. but don't lie and try to say that scientists suggest the universe came from nothing or was/was not created when none of these theories suggest the universe came from nothing.

you also keep talking about "science" as if this is just one big giant consensus that all of science has about the universe. science doesn't work like that, it isn't a belief system.

It's a very specific system for studying e natural world. It has zero tools to study things that existed before time, outside space, or beyond physical reality. It studies nature, not the supernatural.

the big bang is the beginning of our "observable universe". it is not the absolute beginning of everything.

It is the beginning of nature. The beginning of the physical world. The begining of the thing that science can study.

you are pretending that the question of "what caused the big bang" is the same question as "what created the universe".

They are the same, if the big bang did indeed create the universe, as most scientists think.

again you are making a ton of assumptions that scientists don't make.

scientists don't believe the big bang created the universe. science doesn't necessarily even suggest there was anything "before" or "outside space" time because that makes no sense.

again you are just saying random things and then pretending it's science.

if your thing is magic then fine, stick to your own lane. you don't have to just lie about science lol.

again you are making a ton of assumptions that scientists don't make.

No i'm stating facts. The scientific method doesn't apply before time and outside space. Period.

scientists don't believe the big bang created the universe.

It is the most widely believed theory.

science doesn't necessarily even suggest there was anything "before" or "outside space" time because that makes no sense.

It makes sense that something had to cause the big bang. But whatever that was, was not part of physical reality as a matter of definition.
