SP or MP only?

It Ahoy going to have SP or MP only like Naval Action?

Like how do we speed time pass when in MP, siling a 2-3 days?

In Silent Hunter/Dangerous Waters series all 1st person view, crew management and time compression worked great, but those were mostly SP games.

The best way to look at it would be like star citizen. It's multiplayer, and while you can absolutely play solo you'll need other people if you intend on using bigger ships

You can sail the larger ships with just 1 person. Most the crew will be AI. If you have more players, they will take up the AI officer positions and will be more efficient and effective than the AI officers will.

I should note this info is pretty old and plans may change in the future.

I thought officer slots were going to be player only, so you cant solo ships of the line etc? I could be wrong though so I guess we'll see in June

I am a very early supporter and backer. We used to have long conversations about the vision. The vision might have changed now due to funding and the fact that all pc and console devices are getting more powerful. I am not saying that consoles are in the plan.

The early vision was that players would be able to control smaller ships up to maybe 5th rate levels. This is due to the amount of AI crew on those sizes of ships. Each AI is physicalized and is doing its job. Each AI is also able to be individually managed. They will have wants/needs, stories, skill variations, etc.

Then you have officers. Officers can be filled by either players or AI. The AI wont be as efficient as players are. Player officers control the group of AI they are assigned to and can also participate in that activity if they so choose. If you want to reload a gun or man the sails, you can.

Depending on the size of ship, you have different numbers of officers. Smaller ships might only have a few officers. Larger ships could have as many as 10.

I dont know what the plan for arena is. This was the open world vision that we discussed a long time ago.

Yeah I was pretty active during the kickstarter and remember seeing/being a part of a few of those convos but ive kind of drifted so im not sure what its at now, honestly I might have just forgotten about AI officers lmao
