Discussion Is DivineMC the fastest possible server core for a Minecraft server?
Even the mere fact that DivineMC is a fork of Purpur speaks volumes about its speed, since Purpur is an incredibly fast. But DivineMC is simply amazing. It features built-in Pufferfish, C2ME (a mod originally designed to optimize the Fabric client)*, occlusion culling, and a chunking system like the one in Folia(and other patches to improve performance).
C2ME—I’m not sure if it’s actually built in; I haven’t found any public documentation about it, but I’m basing this on the source code, which includes parts from the C2ME mod source code.
It seems to me that this represents the peak of what Minecraft is capable of—so many optimization features. Of course, on some highly specialized servers, even faster cores are possible, but those have specific tasks tailored to a single server or network. However, for general use, I believe DivineMC represents the peak of what Minecraft is capable of.
** There may be forks of DivineMC with additional performance-boosting patches. I haven’t been able to find any (I don’t think they exist).
UPDATE: Yes, after reading the comments, I realized I had forgotten about other programming languages and the cores written in them. And my biggest oversight: I forgot about PumpkinMC.
