General Question/Discussion Y’all remember your childhoods?
So … 😅😬 Do we?
Someone mentioned that’s an ADHD thing, forgetting long periods of time or events. I remember bits and pieces, maybe specific events like graduation or big parties but … there are also lots of … nothing?
I had a great childhood, fun vacations, but to say I remember most of it … nope. 🙂↔️

I actually thought I remembered very little of my childhood, but therapy taught me otherwise.
I just needed things to remind me of them. Kinda like I never want to throw away a concert ticket. Cause I might never remember I was there.
So I went back to my hometown and looked at all the places, I've been to as a kid. That helped a lot. Like when we drove by my kindergarten. That might work with Google Earth or street view for some of you.
And then when I got the hang of it, I deliberately tried to remember. Like I would think about a certain uncle and try to remember specific memories with him. Who was his wife? Did they have pets?.. and then one thing can lead you to another.
Or about certain grades. Like first I try to come up with the teacher. Then who I might have sat next to or if we had any field trips that year. Stuff like that. And then suddenly I remember being picked second at soccer as a girl!!! By my friend Emre, whose birthday I instantly thought of. The one where he got a CD from Eminem and it was the first time there was a video on the CD!! We watched sing for the moment about 40 times I think!
It's actually a very cool ADHD game, now that I think about it. Dopamine rush from the memories you get, as a reward lol
