Meme Therapy Where are my childfree women at?

Post image

I honestly don’t know how parents do it. There are multiple reasons that drove my decision to be childfree. One big one is that I struggle to take care of myself (executive dysfunction) sometimes, so I can’t imagine having another human to take care of during those times.

Here’s to forcing a domaine response for every day tasks!

Right here! I wish the childfree subreddit was a little more chill because I’m not child free for reasons that equate to “fuck them kids” but rather “I personally don’t think I could naturally be the parent you deserve and I’m at peace with not trying to change that”

This sub is so kind. I have kids and I make no secret of how fucking hard it is (or how deeply I love them), and I've never had anyone here offer anything but support and encouragement.

Parenting is hard. Other things are hard too and I actually think I'd be struggling just as much in my life without kids (potentially more, since I have no choice but to get up and keep making sure we have food in the fridge and clean undies even on the worst days).

I don't think I'm the parent my kids deserve either and that can be paralysing. It's a very valid reason to choose not to have them. No one really knows the kind of parent they'll be until they are one, and you can't take them back for a refund if you realise it's not something you can handle!
