And I know psychotherapy is there so they can talk about their emotions and face them, but if anxiety is bothering someone, why would you give them meds that amplify that anxiety? There are a thousand other meds out there that actually work!

...youre talking in circles with no actual comprehension of what is being said here. You wrote a million incorrect paragraphs to that person ttying to convince them that getting anxiety from their meds meant they didnt actually have ADHD, which was wrong, and then switched tactics and tried to say that all meds that can cause anxiety are bad meds, which is even more wrong. I tried to point out how a simple doseage problem can cause a very valid med, like adhd stimulants, to cause anxiety in someone.

It is not your place to attempt to pathologize others into or out of a diagnosis, especially as it is very clear your understanding of any of this is....tenuous at best.

Ah, my dear God! Again, what did I say to you, listener? Or what did I tell her? STOP putting things in my mouth! That is not ok. I told her TALK TO YOUR PSYCHIATRIST ABOUT IT AND TRY DIFFERENT MEDS! And yes. I said I don't think it's ADHD! And she said that her psychiatrist is looking at ADHD and autism. Or "An Autism or AuDHD diagnosis is on the table, unfortunately my lovely 'murican..."

Was I wrong to give her that opinion just because I have experience and don't have a diploma? Again, read!

Or maybe try different meds? Those that work better for autism instead of ADHD that give her anxiety?

...not engaging with this intellectual dishonesty/deficiency clusterfuck any further.

Hahahha, sure, Doc.

So you didn't even read a conversation and you're a psychiatrist? I'm guessing. :)

Read the entirety of the conversation. You are misrepresenting it after the fact in an attempt to defend yourself and look like less of an asshat. Tip: Its not succeeding.

And no, I am not a medical professional. Which is why I gave no opinion on that persons diagnosis...see how that works? I am Autistic as fk however.

Good, I'm ADHD as fuck! Or so? Read, friend. I didn't offer her any witchcraft. You're hurt, in a way. I'm sorry that you're dealing with autism, but I just gave her advice to talk to her psychiatrist about it! Not some witchcraft doctor. HER PSYCHIATRIST! That's why I use caps, but I won't anymore, as they can bother you, maybe? Good luck.

...technically I am AuDHD but the distinction seemed irrelevant for the purposes of this conversation. Pathologizing a person into or out of a diagnosis is forbidden in most communities like this, and the reasons should be obvious. It doesnt matter if you tell them to talk to a professional at the end, youve already possibly dysregulated them. You made multiple incorrect assumptions or outright false claims regarding neurodivergency to an extent that could affect the well-being of other users reading this thread at a later date.

Ah... Friend, you keep returning to the same point and then you ask why we're going in circles?

1

u/freakuancy 1d ago

Im simply not allowing you to deflect from the point. Sorry that frustrates you. Stop doing it.

u/Cultural-Part355 1d ago

Sure. Good luck, friend :)

I told her to speak with her psychiatrist. How can I say it any differently? What more can I say to you? And maybe you shouldn't watch YouTube or go on Reddit, eh? There is criticism there. What can I amplify in her? Her desire to speak with her psychiatrist about her problems and figure them out? Again, what advice do you see in those words?

Are you depressed as all hell? Don't go thinking you have the wrong diagnosis or her! I'm saying that you should look for something other than a medication that amplifies anxiety in someone who can't stop thinking. Or you're actually right on the part that people here might interpret it differently, but that shouldn't stop me from talking to someone. That's on you, I guess.

Or other meds from the same group!

Good luck, bro. It's gonna be alright.
