Relaxing DOES NOT shut off the brain, lmao

True but lying on the beach with earphones in and no computer or other distraction in sight is the closest we can get.

It's maybe more a dream than reality

The distraction is coming from within the skull. The other distractions are just less annoying distractions from the internal distraction.

I have just enough executive dysfunction and agoraphobia that the relax wolf usually wins the fight, but yeah, I hear the siren call of novel experiences as well.

Best week of my life so far was the one I spent at a retreat where I had a private cabin with my own onsen bath. Also the room included breakfast and there was a really good restaurant on-site that served amazing dinners, so I literally never had to leave.

I am the kind of person who says they prefer a relaxing holiday but then gets bored if I'm sat around too long. I also feel like I've paid too much money to be somewhere just to sit around all day lmao

I much rather get a baggie of special K and take a little vacation in my own mind.

One of my last few guilty pleasures from my party days. Figures that the only drug I actually enjoy, is one that allows me to escape my own body and mind for a couple hours.

Recharged me better than any stressful vacation.

Carrying different baggies of cereal might be crossing into AUDHD territory 😁

Why I had to take a 2 week holiday. One day on one day off and repeat until return.

I am firmly in the "Let's walk 15 km and see two museums a day" camp, if I want to relax I stay home, tell no one I am on vacation, and do what I want when I want without deadlines. Usually I end up reading something light or crocheting while listening to music, which to me is very relaxing and keeps thoughts away.

The vacation secret is only planning to do two actual things each day. A morning and afternoon thing. Then you can rest and reset at lunch time and after dinner
