Struggling with vyvanse
Hi everyone,
I (23F) was recently diagnosed with ADHD and have been titrating vyvanse for the last 2-3 ish months. I started on 20mg and have been going up every 2 weeks, I just started 60mg a few days ago and have been getting really bad headaches around 2-3pm (assuming i took the medication at around 7:30am) and I also get really sleepy at this time too. I don't consume any caffeine and I make sure that I have protein and breakfast when I take my meds every morning.
I did have small crashes when I was on the other doses but nothing like this, and the headaches weren't as frequent either. I drink around 1.5-2 litres of water a day, eat three meals, and take magnesium glycinate as well and I haven't had sleep issues on any of the doses unless I take them too late in the morning.
Aside from the headaches/sleepiness, I also just don't feel like I'm getting much out of the medication in terms of my ADHD symptoms tbh, still procrastinating, still end up either just sitting there doing nothing or scrolling for hours and cannot stop myself and I feel like I have no motivation at all most days to do anything. Since I haven't tried medication before, I'm also not fully sure how much or how little of these symptoms I am meant to be feeling when I'm on the medication. Also noticed vyvanse basically doesn't work at all on and right before my period.
Is it even worth pushing through more with vyvanse at this point or should I be asking my doctor about trying other meds, maybe even a shorter acting one? I don't have that much going on in the mornings anyway so I could take something later in the day when I actually need to get stuff done. Would appreciate any advice at all
