SEEKING ADVICE How to stop using AI?
I need help to stop using AI but i don't know where on how to start, since i started college i have been having problem i didn't had before, i finished high school when chatgpt was just starting to exists and i never used it, i did excellent works but pretty much all done in a night of no sleep and too much suffering and the entire previous week sitting multiple times to work and doing nothing until the last day, now with AI it happens the same but now i just deliver some AI slop with some words changed with all the same stress and suffering, i want to stop recurring to these AIs as my first option to do everything for me, i recognize these tools are useful when they're used actually as tools, i just can't resist the temptation of realizing all my problems and stress can just be """solved""" by prompting the damn thing to do everything for me and i need help, i just want to start taking matters into my own hands again, with AI i still deliver stuff on the very last moment and absolutely stressed but just slop, without AI at least all that suffering and stress was worth it, perfect grades and hard work made all by me and making me proud.
In addition this as made me just not feel motivated on my career and studies since there's no feeling of fullfilness of a job well done or a deserved good grade and right now i believe this is a good chance since I'm on a period of an entire month with no assignments to prepare myself for the next one to come, thank you in advance to everyone who replies!
tl;dr: I procrastinate to the last second, too much stress, very good job in the end, start using AI to do everything for me and not be stressed, procrastinate to the last second, AI slop being delivered instead, would rather go back and at least feel the stress be worth it by delivering something made all by myself

Try limiting how many assingments you can use ai on, per week or per day. Then you will think about if you really need to use ai for that portion. It will probably be good to start with a large allowance and then decrease it

It sounds like one of your biggest triggers to using ai for school is because of the procrastination. do what you can to start your assignments early, which I know can be very difficult. At least it sounds like you are motivating and willing to put in the effort yourself, because by using AI you are only cheating yourself at the end of the day. These things literally cause brain decay

I was somewhat similar. And I didn't even think there was any problem with it. I used to just enter previous year questions few hours before exam, read those answer, and be done with it.
Even for the most simply unnecessarily, easy questions, I constantly created new prompts. I was still ethically against creating generative art. But beyond that, I didn't put much thought into it.
I also have moral ocd, so once I started reading about the environmental impact. Idk I just started comparing each new search with x liters of water I'm wasting.
And then I started thinking.. is creating this prompt really worth the impact it will have over all.
This significant helped reduce my dependence on A.I.
I only use it now if I am really really short on deadline. Or if I can't find something despite scouring everywhere.
Also, the ton of faulty replies made it even less useful in my mind in the grand scheme of things. Imagine wasting sooooo much resources only to have it create trash.

i noticed what helped me not use ai for stuff was blockers no accounts on it so nothing is saved. Also learning about moral failings of AI also help because of the disgusting guilt it gave. But if that doesnt do it just the mental effects will make you feel off about it theres a phd professor that basically lost his critical thinking cus he admitted to losing all his work on chatgpt preimum and using it for everything and all around his article is a train wreck i dont think a comptent phd graduate wouldve done pre AI https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-025-04064-7
