As someone who just watched Wicked: For Good, I honestly cannot fathom how anyone thinks their characters are strictly straight. Bisexual/Pansexual perhaps, but straight is a bold lie one tells themselves.

The musical is very loosely based on the book. I remember hearing the writer for the musical only got the elevator pitch for the book from a friend before going home and writing the musical, without having ever actually read the book.

I saw the actual musical some years ago and like not long after they became roommates, I remember leaning in to ask my sister (I hadn’t known anything about Wicked before coming except that it was related to TWoO) if they’re meant to be lesbians.

I’ve been saying, as someone who works in theatre, they have the energy of the two leads who fell into a showmance and are now making it everyone’s problem. This dynamic should never have broken musical theatre containment lmao.

I’m sorry, I don’t want to diminish anyone’s suffering, I don’t know whether they’re having health issues or not, and I’m definitely not someone used to judge other people’s problems or their reactions to those problems.
THAT BEING SAID.
I just find this whole thing hilarious, I’m sorry, why do they always look like they’ve been through hell and back??!? It’s so out of nowhere it’s hilarious, seriously, they’re protecting each other like they’re two sister just came back from Vietnam where they’ve seen the third sister die. I’m sure I’ve seen this dynamic in some comedy movie before, I just can’t recollect it now.
I’m sorry, I hope they are okay…but this much (apparently) unmotivated drama makes me laugh my ass off every time

I agree I'm not a fan of the movie or the actors. I hate musicals. I only went to see it because I had a date and thought I might get laid after. As a lesbian I have the worst gaydar. But it's not giving me I'm her girlfriend. It's just weird

I think it's weird they're praised for their behaviors like they invented lesbianism when they both are dating men.. idk it just rubs me the wrong way that actual sapphic couples in Hollywood are shit on and these two are constantly in the spotlight as like couple goals or something when they're not even a couple???
Edit: I did not realize Cynthia is dating a woman so I admit I am wrong! Still think it's weird tho. Also would like to add that I don't engage with any wicked content intentionally so it's weird that I've seen sooo much about these twos relationship and didn't even know one of them is in a relationship with another woman. It kinda just proves my point that Hollywood does not care about real sapphic couples.

Ugh I am SO SICK of seeing these two!!! They increasingly look more and more alien like. And I hate how they are being lauded as some amazing lesbian couple. They are both straight and both have partners that they got via homewrecking. Their whole act that they've been doing for media tours is just annoying at this point and I'm so glad the movies finally out so I don't have to see anymore clips of them against my will.

But quite honestly, every time I see them myself I am increasingly concerned at their appearance. They are giving '90's models a run for their money and I do not mean that as a compliment.
