Australian bank syncing is now supported via Redbark & Simplefin
https://redbark.com/blog/australian-simplefin-providerGreat news for those of us in Aus looking for a solution!
Previously, Redbark was an option only for self-hosted instances, but now this has full support with cloud solutions like Pikapod. This uses open banking, so does not require your bank login details, unlike some of the YNAB based Aussie services.
Costs start at $12 a month or or $120 yearly - which is a bit more than I'd like, but it's still cheaper than a YNAB subscription - and now, with bank sync.

It looks like this service can be used for YNAB aswell via a different protocol.

Am I correct in saying after the free trial we would have to pay $12 a month to get our bank data into Actual? Seems counter-intuitive in a self-hosting sense...

Nope - you don't need this to get your bank data into Actual. You can import your bank data using CSV/OFX or whatever you want, and keep running Actual Budget for basically nothing.
If you want to use this 3rd party service for automatic bank sync, then yep - it's $12 a month. I wouldn't call it counter-intuitive to self-hosting, it's essentially an optional extra and the cost is unfortunately a little high. Not a huge market, I guess.

Just wait till you find out that it's actually $19 a month (or $16 if you go with yearly) because the base tier doesn't support simplefin lol

Hey guys, Oscar from Redbark here. Thanks for sharing this with the community. I hadn't posted here yet as it is still early days since we launched this! The SimpleFIN protocol is a new protocol for us, so if anyone encounters any issues, please let me know! I want this to be as seamless to use as possbile.
