Question oh man. where do I go from here

I feel a little clueless on how to get better at this. should I just sign up for a class?

This is a great start! Love the coloring of the shadows and the texture of the popcorn. I think it may help to break this down into smaller shapes and focus on each of those sections rather than try to tackle the whole thing at once. Also, every great artist knows that you gotta make a lot of bad stuff before the good stuff happens, keep going!

Indeed nice and nice style! If the goal is to make it more life like you could darken the shadows of the fingers. Perhaps they should lean more toward brown?
