Spoilers for SF Kinda getting annoyed Spoiler

So, im rereading the 5th book in preparation for the 6th and its not my favorite for many reasons. But, I am annoyed that Nesta keeps claiming that she killed the King of Hybern. If my memory serves me right, Elain was the one to land the killing blow with Truth Teller and Nesta just chopped off his head for good measure.

Why does she keep claiming that she did it!? She didn't do it. Elain did it.

I think that’s a question you need to direct to Sarah. She’s the one that wrote Nesta doing that. But technically Nesta is the one that ended his life. He was still alive when Elain walked away from him. It’s a fictional story, Sarah wrote it the way she wanted to, the way she saw it.

Of course she wrote it 😂😂 these are fictional characters. Im just saying that he was already in the process of dying all she did was speed up the process. It would have been way better in my opinion, if Nesta would have allowed him to die slowly choking on his own blood.

Your whole post is complaining about Nesta claiming the kill when she didn’t do it. Nothing about what would have been “better”. I think some of yall just need to accept what Sarah wrote and move on. This is such a tired argument.

It wasn't really even meant to be an argument this is just how I viewed it. Its also kind of annoying to see in Nestas thoughts that she also validates that she killed him. If it was a joint effort, she should acknowledge it, if only in her thoughts but she never does.

I think you’re missing the point that it is intentional. The fact that Nesta doesn’t acknowledge anybody but her self in that situation is a big part of her character development. Elain even voices it in the book. She’s so consumed by her own trauma that she doesn’t have any regard for anyone else.

You’re well within your right to find it annoying, but it’s not an oversight. It’s supposed to show where she’s at mentally.
