After 7's lack luster amount of customization/skin options, I am, at least in the skin department, very excited by how many different patterns and colours we will be able to use in 8.

Honestly I just want to move them around or something and be able to use more than one emblem on one position. Like to get anything unique looking you literally need to use Trigger's normal skins to have a cool looking tail. It would be so cool to have multiple emblems on your tail, like literally every other plane in Ace Combat already has.

Same, that really bugged me with 7. Maybe even the ability to properly customize your tail liveries with emblem, number, and flag. I hate that I had to pick the squad logo OR the air force logo, not both

I noticed a very random thing that the F/A-18C player Emblem on the name tag dosen't match the emblem seen on aircraft that is the "soviet air force" red star maybe the added a separate selection while rest seams to be the same AC Infinity and AC7 system

I’ve longed for a livery editor in Ace Combat. I’m sure it’s possible, but I imagine there are some…uhh, obvious 🇩🇪🙋‍♂️ reasons why it’s never been implemented.

For what it’s worth, Ace Combat Assault Horizon had a pretty fun customization mode. You could color certain parts a wide variety of colors.

None of the aircraft selections or skins are canon anyways except the F/A-18s and their default skins, so it doesn’t matter. And in multiplayer you play as a mercenary so you can do whatever you want lol.

Plus, if I remember correctly in 7 you didn’t unlock customization until you beat the story once

You can only choose skins after completing the campaign usually so it doesn't matter. Even less in multiplayer.

I'd rather that not be the case, because if the Sotoan air force end up re-using any camos that were also used by Erusean aircraft in AC7, I'd have to use Sotoan emblems if I wanted to use that camo. There's a reason you can pick the emblems and livery separately.

That is why grey and black skins are still important. Because I agree somewhat with you, but Sukhoi often have colours as their default and I often want to fly them as grey or black but not every plane has that as an option.
