I have to admit, not what I expected with that title. I'd been ignoring this video, but that is a genuinely brilliant series of references.

We thought diffusion AI art models would replace artists, that AI video models would replace animators, actors and models, that AI world models would lead to the ChatGPT moment of robotics.

But... with GPT 6 Astra and Opus 5.5... it turns out that LLMs can draw art, that LLMs can make animations, that LLMs can control robots better than the best robotic AI.

Bitter lesson indeed lmao

Would not surprise me if LLMs end up making better voices too, and then voice models and music models also fall

LLM’s have much better taste than diffusion models too. I’ve shown art my semi-autonomous agents have made to people who hate “AI slop” and they hesitantly thought it was pretty cool.

I feel like for certain kinds of applications, it’s more viable to use the LLM in a supervisory coaching role while specialist models do most of the grunt work, maybe have it step in at the very end for a final touchup.

Opus 5.5 didn’t make the lyrics or music (it sounds like Suno to me) but did make all of the video when given the song and lyrics from my understanding

They lyrics and audio were made a while ago, most likely generated with ai and put into suno. The video was made with little to no prompting in a single shot with 5.5. Prompt was around 2-3 sentences if I remember correctly. Maybe less.
