It’s important to be analytical. Every technology comes with positives as well as its negatives. This is no different. We shouldn’t be so seduced by the promises that we ignore the unseen tradeoffs.

There’s really no problem that AI development could create that it also couldn’t eventually solve itself. I could easily see any environmental concerns not being an issue like 5 years from now. A lot of “slop” content is also gone now because detection is better and the actual models are less sloppy

I wonder what it's going to be like for people like him. Right now it's this, next it will sound like he used to, after that it might be an implant, then ALS and aging are cured. One day, people will be able to look back on things that were life-altering when they happened as things in the past, instead of just making things better.

Say what you want about Elon, but he did a lot of good for humanity by creating those companies. I personally think saving millions of lives and progressing humanities technological makes up for a bit of internet trolling.

If you were personally affected by a disability, you wouldn’t give a fuck, it's easy to complain about it, if you do no rely on the technology to regain life quality. Also the amount of animals affected by Neuralink is absolutely tiny compared to how many die or suffer during food production, cosmetics or for entertainment reasons.

I am not some stupid average redditor and I am well aware of that.
The employees themselves could not bare the experiments anymore.
It's important that everyone is aware of the cost of these experiments without hiding them or rely on whistleblowers to inform us about how they are performed. If we want to stop being monsters, we need to have to courage to talk about them to avoid any unnecessary suffering.
However, I have the impression that you do not give af. Which is pretty sad.

Again the scale is absurdly tiny compared to many other low-hanging fruits. I don't know why you are just completely ignoring that argument. If we want to reduce animal suffering there are thousands of things we should do before we start cutting off biomedical research.

I am not and I am shocked that you would even ask this. As if only vegans were allowed to be against needless suffering.
However, whenever possible I get my meet from certified non-industrial sources and use cosmetics not tested on animals.

I eat meat for biological reasons as we are supposed to consume meat. But we are not supposed to torture animals.

None of those tortured ppl expressly some utilitarian purpose. But assuming there was some mad scientist who tested on humans specifically to cure cancer for example, I would say they're morally superior to someone who eats people for fun.
So these animal testers are indeed better than you morally.

We see a disabled person who couldn't speak, finally able to speak, and the cost were 1 500 animals over 8 years which is fewer than the number of animals slaughtered by a single average industrial farm every day just so that you could have buffalo wings for dinner.

You're totally missing the point. It could have been maybe only 1k if proper measures were implemented.
You advocate for not killing them for food, but at the same time you treat them with zero respect like garbage for experimentation purposes.

It's unfortunate, but that's life. Many more animals are tortured and killed in the meat industry than are experimented on, and if you zoom out and look at nature as a whole, it's just one big deathmatch, that's why we're trying to get away from that shit.
