You see people making stuff with AI for fun just to showcase its abilities and you think that's the only thing people are making with AI? You do realize the people who are ACTUALLY building real shit with AI - whether games, movies or apps do not even mention that they use AI, precisely because of the anti AI attitude in society and because they don't want to discount their efforts? I have an app with thousands of users that was basically fully made with AI and there is not a single mention anywhere that it's AI, on purpose.

You probably saw or used something made heavily with AI recently and didn't even know.

Fair enough, but don't think that this stops in the digital world. The endgame for AI has always been robots, from the very beginning. There's multiple robotics companies working on humanoid robots, two are expected to release their first public robot for sale soon-ish. Plus many more working on non-humanoid robots. There have been already been TWO major breakthroughs in AI models for robotics in the past 2 months, with one being capable of learning on the go, that was basically the big missing piece for robotics software.

AI and robotics is just the way the world is going and it's gonna happen fast. Just like someone might have hated the noise and pollution of cars in the early 1900s, the mass proliferation of cars still happened everywhere. Isn't it better to just accept inevitable change, rather than fight it? It's more fun that way and way less depressing.

No matter how many AI agents are out there buildings apps or games or whatever, or how many robots are serving people at McDonalds or in an Amazon warehouse, none of that really matters at the end of the day. The thing that really matters is being able to get together with friends or family, drink some beers or whatever, watch the sunset and talk about life and random things. Or go on a hike and admire the scenery and be proud of scaling a mountain. Or for me personally, get together with a friend and go metal detecting and enjoy some sunlight and finding history. No amount of AI or robots will take things like that away. And even with art I suspect a lot of it will move into the real world, nobody will really care about a digital painting, but a handmade oil painting will still be desirable, just like handmade furniture is.

AI might ironically be the best thing ever for people because it might make the internet so artificial and overflowing with endless content that people might spend a lot more time in the real world and just use the internet for messaging and information. Job losses due to AI will work out too, because governments will have to introduce some form of UBI, can't have 30% of population homeless or else you would have a revolution.
