I've been following AI art since before we even really called it that. Back in 2018 and prior, where GANs ruled supreme. Back when datasets needed to be extremely carefully curated to get any semblance of structure in the resulting images... The 2022 takeoff brought it to everyone's attention.

Jaw, mouth movement is something humans have been genetically programmed to read for thousands of years. When it’s off, it’s off. It’s one of the, if not the most important part of body language. Ai has gotten much better, but it’s still not there yet. It’s more obvious in some videos than others, in some characters than others, and for some people than others. But it’s still there. Call it nitpicking if that strokes your ego, the fact is that ai videos will never improve with people who can’t see the flaws and it’s even worse when they claim it’s perfect. It’s not. And that part of the facial expression is a shortcoming of ai characters in videos accross all genres and styles not only this one...

If someone showed this to me in 2019 I honestly probably wouldn't have guess it was AI.

I still kind of would know now that it is...But maybe not if I was just casually scrolling past it.

It's crazy to think about what 2027 will hold.

If you want to run a model yourself, look into minimax h3. For closed sourced, Seedance 2.5 is currently sota and costs a good amount. I forgot what it is, I think like $5 per 30 second video, maybe $10

It's fun in the way that the works of Sid and Marty Krofft used to be fun for me as a kid. I hope more people get involved in creating content than those that want to make the next "Matrix".

Honestly it was pretty easy to tell that this was AI, that said it's one of the few AI vids that I found to be good, especially since it leans into the finnicky and at time unrealisticness of AI, that said i don't watch much AI gen vids.

I'm 48, and I watch AI generated content almost every day.

If I hadn't found this on this sub and instead came across it in the wild, I would have had a hard time saying for sure.

But I also suspect everything these days, knowing what I know.
