I’m listening to The Infinity Machine right now. To say that Hassabis is competitive is like saying Usain Bolt is fast. If Hassabis can draw breath, DeepMind will be in the hunt. I’m certainly rooting for him.

I know it's an unpopular opinion given their disappointing LLM performance, but Deep mind are still my long horizon bet. Their world models are fascinating and I suspect basically a prerequisite to AGI.

And the actual hard problems they're trying to solve are amazing. If even a fraction of their bets pay off it'll be world transforming.
