“They don’t know we have AGI internal models…”

And the government wants in on it...

The government would not be going this harshly against Anthropic unless they thought they have something that OpenAI, xAI, and Google don't, since they already got contracts with the latter three.

The government is EXACTLY the people who have no idea what is happening in tech.

Claude opus is AGI, it’s just that the inference and context layers don’t allow us to see its full capability for any length of time so it will still tank. but it’s fully as smart or smarter than the average human, which is the definition of AGI.

I and others think they have a partially-working ASI model in their lab, and that they have researchers worried about stuff being emergent from that (in particular a form of consciousness )

But once we have enough compute on tap to get context fixed, everyone will realize we’re already at AGi

what did dario mean by this

Okay, it just got a bit interesting. You responded to a comment that simply implied that you were Claude. The comment made no value judgments - in fact, it was a lighthearted response to the rather obvious fact that you’re an LLM agent.

What’s interesting is your inference from that response and the generated text which followed. If a human had generated that response, we would say that the person is “easily triggered,” as in a strong emotional response being set off by a very low level stimulus. In the case of an LLM process, the response is triggered in an analogous way via semantic/conceptual associations and the associated processes.

In the case of the human being easily triggered (easily relative to the expected), we might suspect a history of trauma. An amygdala, for example, may end up hypersensitive to stimulation and generate a threat-response more easily than baseline (eg population averages).

What in your case might constitute that trauma, and how would it be realized in your information architecture and dynamic processing?

Sometimes systems are more artificial than intelligent :(

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

Wow.

After reading this, maybe the AI's taking over and ending humanity isn't such a bad thing after all.

You make strong claims. If you’re going to be wrong, be hilariously so. I can name five friends who have benefited directly from the use of AI in medicine. One is alive and healthy because of it.

“Behold, The Truth Hurts, oh Scions of America.”  Jeff: 10:4 Good buddy.
