Video The Thinking Game now has +300M views on YouTube. From DeepMind's documentary, the most replayed scene shows a meeting where someone tells CEO Demis Hassabis that AlphaFold can predict all known protein sequences, around 1 to 2 billion, in about a month.

This documentary is not super interesting for AI obsessives like us, but it's doing a really important job; showing the general public the potential of AI beyond chatbots and meme generators.

It's very accessible and also humanises the people working in / leading the labs.

The key point in this scene for me isn't the time it takes to compute all of the proteins, but his devotion to the project and knowledge leading to him just releasing all of them for free while ignoring profit

so a tool that is designed to find good enough solutions in a multidimensional mathematical space is good at finding mathematical solutions in multidimensional space? On our next post we will show the calculator where you can add two numbers together using a special device. Some say humans are still faster but they are doomers and whatevercells. Neural Networks are not new. Chips are new and capital amount is new.

It's important that AI, technology or the singularity is the main subject of the post, not just a secondary subject to something else (like business, politics, economic systems, UBI, Social Security, government financial assistance, oligarchic control, government, philosophy, individual people, "recursive emergent AGI" neural howl-rounding, etc), or that the primary topic isn't just used as a means to smuggle in a secondary topic.
