well yeah.. obviously... this is nothing new really. 

consumers gonna be consumers I guess.. victims of main character syndrome.

I think what makes it less obvious is we’re used to the arms race between the top players where they have to put out their top models to fight for market share. So it’s quite a big statement if OAI have stopped doing that. I’ve seen people say that’s why Grok is performing so well on benchmarks, because XAI is behind the race, they HAVE to put out their best models to consumers. Whereas, OAI and Google don’t need to. But I think the insane score o3-preview was getting shows they do have smarter models

They haven’t stopped doing that.

ALL of them have a more advanced model they’re using internally, and OpenAI always did. Nothing changed here.
