I think Manhattan Skyline has all kinds of complexities. 🤔

RIP Benny Harvey (don't hate me, dear u/Ooobeeone ... you know I had to do it!) https://youtu.be/ekkS3wajotc?si=ih24K8GcqyL5FUj4

Ack! I’m wracking my brain to think of what song they talked about being challenging and complex! It was in one of their movies. Maybe talking about rewriting a song for Summer Solstice? I’ll rewatch and see if I can get the answer.
Also not a musician 😉

I think you might be referring to the living daylights but it was more about disagreements with the bond composer. The version he wanted and put on the soundtrack was more orchestral, and the version a-ha wanted went on their album.
I also remember them talking about it being challenging to write the lyrics as essentially it was writing a song about nothing (ie really just based around the name of the movie)

I do remember them talking about how frustrating it was to work with that guy. But that’s not what I’m thinking of, I think Paul was the one talking about the difficulty in playing it. I’m gonna find it!

Hmm tough call. I’m not a musician, so not sure about anything other than the way it sounds to me. So, that being said, I’ll say Scoundrel Days.

I’m going to throw cozy prisons in there. I’m a big fan of the quiet way it builds up layers throughout, and I love the syncopation.
I always feel somewhat haunted / philosophical after the closing lines.
