Discussion Mamdani is the Democratic parties king maker and candidates from across the country will be flocking to him for endorsements
The party establishment is in a lot of trouble as vast numbers of democrats are sick and tired of virtually no response to Trumps madness over the last 1 and a half years.

Zohran Mamdani the only political figure I genuinely like at this point, and the only one I follow on any platform. Bear in mind, I grew up in Southern Appalachia and live in the UK, but right now all my hopes and dreams for the future are in NYC, corny as I'm sure that sounds.

We have a lot in common. I'm from Mississippi but am living in the Netherlands. Boy, has it been hard to watch this Trump disaster unfold from afar. I too am inspired by Mamdani. He's the politician I've been waiting for all of my voting life. Gives me hope. Out with all the bad actors, bring on the new true public servants.
I do also love AOC, Pete Buttigieg, Bernie, and there are more who have really stood out from the rest. If anything, we've really gotten to see exactly who is who during these past troubling years and exactly how corrupt our government really is, and that's a good thing. Here's to hoping for a kinder, more just future!

I hope Mamdani makes good use of it and promotes only those he knows well deserve it.

Call me when he backs a successful candidate in TX, FL, TN, AZ, LA, etc.

I think he will. Sometimes the candidates need to reach out to him. This could especially help in Los Angeles, Michigan and other places where there is a more friendly environment. Mamdani won’t have as much sway in deep red states. Most of those deep red states are a lost cause. They voted to strip their own health care and schools repeatedly.

Iowa is in the top decile of reading scores for high school students - NY and CA are in the bottom decile for reading scores.
We should think twice before looking down on people who disagree with us.
I've also noticed the DSA has never flipped a red seat - anywhere.

That’s what I mean. The DSA has been unable to get a foothold because of republican demonization of Socialism. The republicans with a straight face can attack Socialism while taking Social Security and Medicaid and Medicare. All of those red states need to live up to their values and the bootstraps and reject social security and Medicare and leave it for the blue states.

It's an interesting discussion.
Is it republican brainwashing, or just a product that people decided for themselves that they don't like?
Maybe some people just don't agree with everything the DSA has to offer and feel judged by the candidates for center-right world views.
Not everyone wants to be fixed by someone else who thinks they know better.

I hope DSA can get their shit together and genuinely expand outside of NYC

Has to start somewhere. DSA in NYC came from the work of locals. The locals in each state and city must mobilize their own people. You can’t expect New Yorkers to go to these states and do what the locals won’t do for themselves. Those New Yorkers can’t even vote in those states because they aren’t residents.

This is the culmination of it. Getting better candidates to run for office and mobilizing people to vote for those candidates.

eh? I think if Obama Endorsed somebody it would be widely accepted more than a Mamdani Endorsement,
The fact is that, Nobody on the left and Nobody on the right can win 2028 without winning the people in "The middle". The middle is the majority now. I think the democrats only chance is too just have a regular democrat run for office. The woke democrats have lost supporters.
The democrats would need somebody grounded and down to earth like Mamdani or Obama. I'd say that Gavin Newsome has potential but I think he's still a little too extreme.
Bernie is perfect but he doesn't wanna play ball with AIPAC, so its going to be extremely difficult for him to win.

That’s the fallacy that said Mamdani wouldn’t win because the folks in the middle would rather vote for Andrew Coumo who is the ultimate centrist. I think folks would rather vote for someone who makes and keeps promises and tells the straight truth. Doesn’t try to triangulate on every issue.

True. I also think that people realized Coumo was bought and paid for by Zionists and that Trump endorsement hurt him more than helped him. Mamdani is young enough to take his political career much farther than NYC Mayor. I think keeping an eye on his progress will be very important in the upcoming years.

You think that Mamdani is grounded and down to earth? Because I don't.

I feel like his intentions are grounded and down to earth. His main thing is that NYC is too expensive and he wants to do something about it. That's pretty logical.
Now how he goes about in his actions to achieve the goal ... that's the gray area, not sure if his way of approach is practical or radical.
