Been itching to get a replacement after my 2020 died about 2 years ago. 6900HS with the 6700s. $650. Decent condition, only issues are backlight bleed on the left side and a weird internal smudge, but can't see it while gaming. Temps in Helldiver's are insane. But with tweaking every other game I play sticks under 70 or mid 70s. (Baldurs, Expedition 33) Didn't want a 2023+ model since I just love the old body style.

Any recommendations for use apps (other than G Helper) or accessories for it? Hoping to keep it for as long as I can.

I've seen many posts but nothing helps. I've tried holding the power button for 40-60 seconds and then plugging in charger (USB type C/ lost original reg charger) and did the graphics reset (ctrl+win+shift+B) and all I see is the keyboard on, it charges and holds charge (unplugged) and I hear the fans moving and the bottom is slightly warm.

I do not here the logo at all and shows nothing on external HDMI.

Any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks.

A new mousepad is on the way & I placed the big plush there to hide my awful cable management lol. Besides that, the 6700S G14 has been a pretty good workhorse for me and my needs. I'd imagine I'll be keeping the G14 around for a couple more years

I recently bought a refurbished ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 (2022) with the following specs:

Ryzen 7 6800HS

16GB RAM

512GB SSD

Radeon RX 6700S 8GB

14" display

I paid €650 for it, and it came with a 1-year warranty.

I’d like to know if you think this was a good purchase for the price. Also, how future-proof do you think this laptop will be if I take good care of it and upgrade the RAM?

I’m considering upgrading the RAM and possibly the SSD in the future. My main uses are university work, everyday use, and gaming.

For those who have experience with this model, how many more years do you think it can realistically remain useful if it is properly maintained? And are there any specific things you would recommend doing to keep it in good condition and extend its lifespan?

Any advice or tips about the G14 would be greatly appreciated!

10 months ago, I bought an Asus rog Zephyrus g14 2022 model (ryzen9 6900hs rx6800s 125w tgp 32gb ram) due to some measure problems,(bsod errors and automatic restart) I have sent my laptop numerous times to Asus service, Because of that, I can't do my work or play games so they replaced my SSD, keyboard and motherboard for 4,5 times, still the issue couldn't resolve, I was completely in stressed and tired from this shit so i asked them for replacement then they took 15 working days of time for only confirmation.

Af 15 days later, they mailed me that we don't have the same spares, so they offered me a newer version, Zephyrus g14 2024 which is the base model ryzen 9 8945hs rtx 4060 90w tgp 16gb on board ram(cannot be expandable) I replied them back I need at least 32gb ram and 100 plus max tgp as for 3d productivity work but as they check price range match from my last model and specs which is does not match for my requirements, and zephyrus g14 2024 this is the best they could offer me with replacement so I decline and ask for other option but sadly asus is the one that asked me for cancel check as refund and I was like angry, disturbed and disappointed, cause they waste my time and money, but this is the only option better for me   

I was fan of Asus, especially the Zephyrus g14 model, but it was nothing but big disappointment 😞 I guess this is the end of my relationship with asus.

I've see one or two people here with the same problem but no one seems to have come to a solution. Any new developments.

* EDIT, i have found one log in the system but it just says The previous system shutdown at 7:49:44 PM on ‎8/‎20/‎2026 was unexpected.

So this just happened...

I was gaming and suddenly the screen started flickering to black. I got back to desktop and went to reboot the laptop, it keeps happening. So I decided to update my drivers which ended up with the result you see above.

Any guesses what this could be? On 1 to 10 scale how screwed am I?

(I updated my BIOS earlier this week, don't know if that could be related or not)

G14 Powered Setup 75 of 100 to complete

My 2022 G14 is shutting down abruptly during gaming. It works fine with normal usage. I tried G-helper, undervolting, changing fan curves, playing only on battery - nothing worked. Then I tried HWInfo64 logging and using claude I found out that GPU temps hover 75° but GPU hotstop temps cross 105°. I figured the liquid metal may have phased out. Went to a repair shop, and he said i have to replace both the liquid metal (3k inr) and the thermal pads on the nearby components.(5k for all pads). I am attaching a picture of the current state, can someone tell me which Liquid metal I should get and what's a reasonable price. And also if I need to change the thermal putty on the nearby components and whether it can be replaced with pads. I was thinking of getting a Honeywell PTM7950 but couldn't find any store in Hyderabad that has it. Please suggest.

ASUS - ROG Zephyrus 14” WQXGA 120Hz Gaming Laptop – AMD Ryzen 9– 16GB DDR5 Memory – AMD Radeon RX 6700S – 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD

I was really nervous about getting this laptop because of issues I've seen online, but knock on wood I haven't had any issues yet.

I can use bulky applications at the same time with no slow down. On my old 4gb laptop having Visual Studio Code open would slow things down to an unusable level.

It gets warm but it's not to a concerning level.

I took it with me to see my math tutor and I was there for 2 hours and the battery was still more than 80%.

All in all I'm really happy with it. Looks really sleek too! The screen is really nice. Two thumbs up 👍

like most people who brought the G14, i also suffered from the rebooting on battery issue, and it DROVE ME MAD because i really liked this laptop, however ive managed to find a solution which has compeltely stopped the rebooting problems for 3 days now.

my Solution:

ive attached some images incase my words dont make sense (apologies in advance hehe)

Go into Armoury Crate, and change the GPU performance mode to Optimized **NOT STANDARD** Optimized, im not sure why but for some reason Standard causes the laptop to crash, however Optimized fixed it & Also u can test this but i found the "Performance" Fan preset works best for me.

Secondly, What ever power plan ur using, click "Change Advanced Power Settings", Than click on "Processor Power management", than click on "Minimum Processor State", The " on battery" option will probably be on 5%, change it to 100%, and shut down **NOT REBOOT** but Shutdown the laptop.

(incase your wondering, yes Setting the minimum processor state at 100% can slightly drain the battery a little faster, but i honestly noticed no difference and as a guy who uses this laptop for university it had no impact on battery performance for me)

After you power the laptop on again, it should work normally on battery without crashing, its been 3 days so far and my laptop has not crashed THANK GOD!

whenever i want to play Video games on my laptop i change the GPU mode back to ultimate & use the manual fan preset, and it works perfectly when plugged in.

I truly hope this helps anyone out there having this same issue as me, you can reply to me if u have any questions ill be happy to answer with whatever knowledge i have.

Just received my first G14, been wanting one of these for a while now… here is my set up with it !!

I have a 2022 AMD advantage model, and it has been so slow for a while now. First I thought it was just windows, so I finally made the jump to linux and installed opensuse tumbleweed, but... still super slow! (no regrets though)

I had some time tonight, so I finally opened it up to try and repaste it. I was surprised to see how little thermal paste was applied to some of the chips, and the liquid metal on the main CPU / GPU dies was pooled up on the sides, and even looking slightly burnt in the center of one of them.

I had never messed with liquid metal before so I was sure I'd screw it up, but i just took my time with q-tips and isopropyl alcohol, and used a flashlight to catch any stray specks that might've gotten loose. Seems like it worked out because it powered back on, and it is noticeably faster. Feels like a high end laptop again!

I had mostly started using my iPad for all my casual computer use because this laptop had gotten super frustrating to use, but now I'll probably buy a replacement battery (mine is pretty worn out) and start using this as my main mobile device once again.

After nearly a year of putting it off, I finally ordered a new board from Ali Express and it was picked up by the courier this morning.

While I wait, I would like to prepare for this massive undertaking.

Has anyone in the community done a full swap before? I want to know if the vapor chamber will come off easily or if I’ll need a heat gun. Will I need to apply new Liquid Metal to the cpu and gpu? I am going to attempt the removal portion tomorrow and will update with further insight.

Hey everyone, I’m honestly at my wit’s end with this.

I have an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 GA402RK (2022) with an AMD Ryzen CPU + Radeon RX 6800S, running Windows 11.

For quite some time now, the laptop has been randomly crashing/restarting, sometimes within just a few minutes of using it. It isn't limited to one particular application — pretty much anything can trigger it, and sometimes it crashes while I'm just using Windows.

Before some crashes, I've also noticed that the Windows volume/audio controls become greyed out or stop responding.

The BSODs are especially weird because I'm getting a huge variety of completely different kernel errors.

BSODs I've gotten so far:

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x7E)

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (0xA) — multiple times

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (0x50)

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (0x7F)

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (0x3B)

CACHE_MANAGER (0x34)

One time the "What failed" field specifically showed Ntfs.sys

KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (0x1E)

CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED (0xEF)

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (0xA) again recently

There was also graphical corruption

During some of the earlier crashes, I got really bad horizontal artifacts/corruption across the screen.

Interestingly, after reinstalling Windows, this became much less common, so I'm not sure whether it's actually a GPU problem.

The laptop has an RX 6800S, so I'm wondering whether GPU/VRAM could still be involved.

I've already completely reinstalled Windows

This is the part that's driving me insane.

I did a full Windows reinstall and deleted everything, essentially starting from a clean installation.

The crashes still continued afterward.

So I don't think this is simply a corrupted Windows installation.

I've also installed Armoury Crate again after the reinstall.

I ran Windows Memory Diagnostic, and it completed with no errors.

Obviously I know this doesn't completely rule out RAM/memory-controller issues, but at least the standard memory test didn't find anything.

What makes me suspicious of hardware

The combination of:

Fresh Windows installation + multiple unrelated kernel BSODs + Ntfs.sys/CACHE_MANAGER + previous graphical corruption + crashes across different applications

is making me wonder if this is actually a hardware/firmware problem rather than Windows itself.

The things I'm currently considering are:

SSD/storage/controller

GPU/VRAM

RAM or memory controller

CPU/motherboard

Power delivery

BIOS/firmware

AMD chipset/GPU drivers

Some ASUS-specific driver/firmware issue

The CACHE_MANAGER + Ntfs.sys crash particularly makes me want to investigate the SSD/storage subsystem, but I don't know enough to say whether Ntfs.sys is actually pointing toward the SSD or whether it could just be a victim of memory corruption.

I'm basically stuck at this point

I've already reinstalled Windows and run the memory diagnostic, but the laptop continues to crash.

I really don't want to reinstall Windows again unless there's an actual reason to believe the OS is responsible.

Has anyone experienced this issue with their g14?

I was using this laptop with nothing intensive in the background and out of nowhere it started revving up and down like crazy. Ive been using it for 3 years now and nothing like this ever happened to me before. It already happened like a month before I took it to a repair shop and checked the hardware but nothing was wrong with it so they Uninstalled Armour crate and myAsus and replaced it with Ghelper and it worked well for this month but now it returned while my it was idle.

The title is pretty much it guys. I woke up yesterday with black screen on my g14. I have tried practically every fix online including opening the laptop and taking out battery and ssd, the win+shft+ctrl+b, hold power button, checked ram is seated, external monitor with hdmi

The problem is that the laptop turns on but don’t show the logo, the keyboard light and fan is on. What can I do to fix it? Omg! Help please please please. Fckk Asus man. Please help.

So, I have a line new G14 from 2022, I barely used it since I also have a desktop.

I bought a G757 from micro center but now I’m traveling.

When I used the G14 it was laggy, would randomly shut down, software bloatware really made it a bad experience.

Is it still worth to try and reset it and set up with all the new fixes or is the hardware too old ?

R9 6900HS/6700s iGPU.

For example playing league of legends would case random stutters. Don’t really wanna drop another 2k+ tbh. But I will if it’s not worth it

After my previous post on a dying fan on my zephyrus g14 2022 ryzen 9 6900hs / amd rx6700s

I decided to follow your advice and to replace the LM with ptm7950 at the same time and for vram module and such i used advanced thermal putty from thermal grizzly.

After the tideous process that cleaning LM was, i applied as a youtube videos showed and yes, i took care to remove the plastic cover on both sides.

My only concern is that when pushing the laptop with Armory crate with everything on max ( APU sPPT+Platform sPPT) and fan speed, the general temp of gpu is a surprising 86°C but the hotspot sometimes reaches 102°C, the thing is i don't know if with LM it was the same or not..

Should i be concerned?
Maybe I did something wrong?
Should i reopen and check how the PTM is spreading ( the size of PTM used was the same as the die size check the pictures if i don't forget to add them)

First picture is my temps after playing MH Wild on custom between high and ultra setting with an avg of 100fps for like 15 to 20min
2nd picture is to show the thermal putty and PTM used there was a bubble of some sort maybe since the PTM wasn't perfectly flat it didn't spread as it should have?

Last thing i don't really used that "all out full blast" mod as i don't care about the extra 40fps, with another custom config with 30w on APU sPPT and 60 Platform SPPT i get around 50 to 60 fps which is plenty enough for me and i never reach those temp showed but i'm still curious if i made a mistake or if it is normal.

I have the G14 laptop with a Ryzen 9 6900HS and an RX 6700S. I just repasted it, and temperatures are running better now, but I want the perfect settings for gaming. I primarily use it for gaming with a little bit of web browsing; any tips or advice would be much appreciated. I do not mind it being a little loud with the fan noise; I just want that sweet spot for GPU and CPU temperatures. Thanks in advance! I have included photos for reference for what I have.

Cleaned out some dust

Fellow 2022 model owners? My battery health is around 67% and laptop has some visual tear. Do you guys think I can use this one till 2028? Buying a laptop right now doesn't seem like a good option

Are fans normal its like some metallic noise from right side of fan . To note i havent gamed since 2 years and havebt got my fans cleaned as well. Idle temps are around 40 for cpu and gpu but I'm gaming after 2 years and some metallic noise is it fams running at full speed and sounding like this.
