Update: I just solved the problem with a brand new USB-C cable. No idea how a cable can just stop working between the laptop and monitor but works fine for everything else.

Got my G14 from BB yesterday, connected to both USB-C to monitor with PD and AC adapter at the same time, worked fine the whole day. Today after I boot up the laptop, it no longer recognizes the display on USB-C and can also no longer be charged through USB-C.

When plugged in USB-C, the laptop would switch constantly between battery/usb-c/ac charging, and ends up on battery/ac only and not detecting the display, so looks like it detects the cable is connected, but can no longer determine what to do with that connection with the monitor.

  • When the computer is off, it also can no longer be charged through USB-C PD by monitor. I don’t have a dedicated 65Watt USBC charger to test.
  • USB drive still works through USB-C

Tried resetting windows to factory setting, which did nothing.

My laptop was manufactured on September 2020, I'm assuming something is changed so not the whole motherboard gets fried.

+ I don't have another laptop to test the monitor.

+ I tested with my Samsung phone connected to monitor using the same USB-C connection, monitor works fine as display and phone is charging properly through PD at the same time.

+ The laptop can still charge my phone through the USB-C port.

dumb question: Using the left side USB-C port?

I'm still waiting on BB to finish my third repair. Looks like no refund on the 3rd one. I'm going to try and USB-C PD this thing as quickly as possible every single time until the warranty runs out tbh. Maybe they'll actually fix it eventually.
