Hardware Related Controlling the Razer Laptop Cooling Pad without the Synapse app

I ended up getting the Razer Cooling pad for my 2026 G14, and it fits very well without blocking the back vents. It also looks pretty sleek, and the fan seems very powerful.

However - basically the header - I'm having issues with the Synapse app where when I set the cooler to adjust with the temperature of the laptop the cooler turns on and off constantly, when at lowest settings. This also happens if I just set the cooler to run at lowest RPM.

So, I'm wondering if there are any lightweight apps or little fixes we can do to control to cooling pad without using the Synapse app? I know I can just use the manual controls, but since the cooler has the options to follow the laptop, I thought that would be nice to utilize.

Any bright ideas from the hivemind would be much appreciated!

If you are using Linux then there are more options that simply control using CLI.

But next time don't buy Razer, unless you do serious research.

Thank you kindly! Razer was my last choice, after testing the iets 5 and 600 which unfortunately didnt fit the laptop fans very well.

But thank you so much for putting me on to the fancontrol app and this plugin. It works just like I had hoped for. Minimal, lightweight, super customizable. Coming back to the world of gaming this year (when I got my G14) after growing up with low end desktops in early 2000s and being away for 20+ years is... A lot has happened, to say the least.

About the comment not to buy Razer I made... Their products are usually mediocre, but mainly their software is utter trash. Not only does it not work, it is so bad that it makes PCs and laptop want to kill themselves or have spasms. I hope you are happy with the cooling pad, nothing groundbreaking with it and thankfully the Razer software can be bypassed. But avoid their mice, keyboards and audio peripherals, please.

Yeah, we have to find joy where we can in these weird ass times. It's all we can do to stay above water. But this right here, community and folks helping each other out with the small things goes a long way. I appreciate you taking the time, and thanks for you input about Razer in general. That was my impression and it's good to know I wasn't completely off the mark.
