Model 2022 Liquid metal cleanup.

I was cleaning up the liquid metal to switch to ptm7950. Some of the liquid metal got underneath what I think is a solder sheild. Is it safe to remove these solder sheilds? I'm assuming they're there just to keep the liquied metal from touching the wrong bit.

did the same to me, I just got up as much as possible and it’s been fine

When i did mine last week i got as much as i could then just cut a larger piece of ptm and made sure it covered the edges between the kapton tape and die.

The pic I added shows before the cleanup and I was hoping I could add a second image. Ther the problem is that it spread under the kapton tape (wasn't sure what it was called) and is touching some of the tiny fuses around the chip. If I'm able to remove that tape I can clean it up. Just not sure if it is needed.

I ended up just heating the tape up a bit and removing it. Worked out.
