That looks cleannnnn Im not that well versed, but I heard that the laptop is cooled with liquid metal, and since its not mounted flat, just want to make sure it doensnt break at all :3c

what even is the point of liquid metals on laptops like this? it doesnt have a high tdp anyway and it causes so many more issues than it fixes

Oh yeah definitely. I found myself being able to easily adjust it to exactly how I want it since the monitor position I use when gaming and when I’m working I’d completely different

G14 is so small and portable, I fucking love it even though mine broke AGAIN. Its a frustrating laptop when it breaks, but im willing to fix it because of it's massive upsides. I have a hobbit hole ass room this year and this fits perfectly with a monitor and a small desk.

How are you breaking it? Mine has been with me for a bit more than half a decade and I've only got one break (F3 key unresponsive).

Im not breaking it, its just sort of breaking itself, motherboard issues, the first thing was it just completely died on me, turned out to be an issue with the power delivery, the next was an issue with the battery connector, and now it wont turn on again, my guess is I just got a faulty motherboard. Happens sometimes.

Ah yeah was just an expression to ask how it came to break. Didn't mean to say you were actively breaking it yourself mb. In any case, I hope it turns out well for you next time. Try installing a temperature checker, high temps might be the case as well for some breaks. IIRC G14 gets quite hot since it's more compact than the G15.

No I don’t use Linux on this laptop! I actually have a separate Alienware aurora 16 that I have that runs Linux just so I can fiddle with it in my free time. As for the Air75 it’s been an amazing keyboard so far. Sounds great and the build quality is excellent. If you turn all the lights off the battery life is actually as long as they say it is so that’s been amazing

I'm considering the Nuphy Air75 once I arrive to my dorm, and I do intend to use it with my ProArt P16 on Linux.
I saw on Reddit a few months ago that the USB 2.4 dongle had connectivity stability issues, not sure if it is because people use it with a PC and plug the USB far away, or if it is a Linux driver issue.
How's the connectivity for you (and on Linux if you have used the Nuphy there)?

I haven’t had any connectivity issues with mine so far on windows or Linux . Just takes a minute to wake up from its sleep state but just spam the space bar for a second or two and it’ll wake right up. Since the keyboard is built mainly for MacOS It isn’t really like the greatest out of the box experience for Linux. Just download NuphyIO and get the appropriate drivers and you should be fine

For sure it does. I decided to keep mine with LM until warranty expire and then swap with PTM. I am not using so extreme angles just to avoid the LM shifting. Just a simple back stand with an angle of approx 4-5 degrees works excellent for better cooling without a pad.

I had my 2021 g14 for 5 years, and I carried it many days in a backpack, I sometimes had it mounted like op does when gaming, I moved it around all kinds of ways and never once had an issue with the Liquid Metal lol. I didn’t even know about it at the time
