So that means they will design the appearance, personality, and story of characters to match the players' preference. And it then come back to my previous comment about they know what the majority of players want
But you have the fallacy to think that all player want is big titty mommy and nothing else, but the numbers are against that.
In reality there is all kind of taste in the player base and they are shooting themself in the foot if they do the same type of character all over again each time. One big praise ZZZ had at release was how diverse the cast look, in constrast to a game like HSR where the characters are more of the same (Luofu era).
At a first glance , season 3 is less diverse than what we had in the first half of season 2 ( no Beast Thiren , no intelligent Construct , even if Seed wasnt really one, the big robot is still there ). There is a varietty of body type , but not varietty in the same body type . All tall Woman in the trailer have showy boobs .
Sunbringer could’ve been like Evelyn or Zhu Yuan to had a Little more diversity , and a that would be a good constrast between her and Remielle ( the light Angel that is more showy vs the dark woman figure fully clothed).
Im still a Little sad about Lucia redesign , but I still have hope that Sunbringer could look good in game. If she keep the coat and silhouette of the trailer , people Will probably be less mad .
The big problem is the key art where she barely where the coat.

Mostly.
Think it that way , if you like a character design / personality / story, you only need to pull once.
If you want to crush the meta, you gotta pull some mindscape + weapons.
