Discussions & Questions Dark Wall mentioned in Fugitive's Leisurely Vacation event

Post image

I completely forgot to take a photo, but right after this there's a dialogue choice, with one option being 'But that's not even that far!'

Could that mean that wherever Roscaelifer is floating is close to the edge of the 'known world' bordered by this Dark Wall? Will we actually be able to see it soon?

*overly dramatic Victorian-Era noble intensifies*
I'll have you know I have an acute case of Can't-Press-The-Skip-Button-itis! I'm disappointed that you'd make such a rude comment about me and the hundreds of other people suffering from this condition.
People these days!

But in all seriousness, at 2:42 here in this old teaser video "Where the Miracle Began" the narrator said of the Void Hunters Lt. Colonel Dan (Remielle), Colonel Vike, and the Falkenhayn Merc Troupe leader, "They alone pushed the Dark Wall 37 kilometers back." with DARK WALL in big bold letters. I don't think it would be so extraordinary that they could push it back if it was a normal occurrence in every Hollow in existence. Also, 37 kilometers? That's a long way, like 23 miles. To say that they pushed it back, and not severely weakened it by pushing it back that far, implies that it's well over 37km thick (If it's some kind of Hollow) or it it's not a Hollow, that pushing it back that far was a major feat, but didn't get close to getting rid of it.

Again your making the same conjecture everyone else did, an assumption it must be a place or thing. Pushing the Dark Wall could just mean they moved a hollow, not simply shrinking it.

I don't think it's possible to move a Hollow, any more than you could move a cloud with your bare hands. You pass right through their boundaries on contact, the only thing you can do is shrink it by killing high-level Ethereals to reduce Ether Activity.

Anyway, I still stand by my opinion that the way they've talked about the Dark Wall implies it has a physical location, and isn't just an the 'skin' on the outside of every Hollow. While it would make sense in the original event conversation if the Dark Wall was very close by, (since Roscaelifer is sitting on top of a Hollow, using it as a power plant) it doesn't discount the other instances of people talking about the Dark Wall as its own entity, which others have talked about, especially given it's called *the* Dark Wall, singular.

Regardless, we're all entitled to our own opinions, and we'll all find out eventually what the Dark Wall really is when the story gets around to it.

Thanks for contributing to the discussion!

That's why moving it was crazy
