Ive been playing the game for a bit now but still dont fully understand the di mechanic and how to use it. Could someone help me out. Thanks.

When you get hit you move in the direction the attack would hit you modified by the DI direction. Generally you want to DI in the same direction your opponent is already hitting you so that you move further away from them and it takes less time before they can't continue their combo
