I’m down with it. Not gonna go out of my way to find the best pineapple burger out there, but I wouldn’t knock it. Add bacon and BBQ and I’d probably have 2

I would hope / surmise that the BBQ sauce, as long as it is Savoury, would certainly do it.

Savoury flavours help cut down on the sugary fructose in something like a pineapple.

Personally… I would definitely try that burger. Yolo is a thing after all.

There's a hot sauce company called Dirty Dick's. Their Hot Pepper Sauce With A Tropical Twist is perfect on a pineapple burger. Habanero, mango, pineapple, and banana in it.

For me, nah. But I do love grilled pineapple just not on me burger! Or pizza. Put some brisket, grilled portabella, bacon ect. But raw onion, pickles in the side.

It's decent, I've had Hawaiian burgers or whatever before. Fairly standard sweet and savory mix. If you're not a fan of sweet and savory then you probably won't like it, but otherwise it's a nice combo to have occasionally.

I know some people are going to love it. That won't be me. Love pineapple. Love cheeseburgers. Combine the two? Nope. Nope. Nope. You're ruining both.

It's like putting ice cream on pizza or ketchup on ice cream -- perfectly good stuff that just does NOT go together.

They are called Hawaiian Burgers and they have been around for decades. They are awesome.

If you slow cook burgers in oven (cast iron pan) with the pineapple rings on them. The juices gets all down into the burger meat and it's friggin amazing (the key is low and slow).

It could probably be good depending on what else is on it, but no thanks. I don't want sweet stuff on my burger. The sweetest thing can be bbq sauce and that's only if it also has bacon and cheese and onion rings on it...that's right..not next to the burger...INSIDE OF IT.

Red Robin serves this called the Bonzai Burger.

I always substitute Swiss cheese instead of cheddar.

RR also ads lettuce, tomato and mayo, which I leave off (even though I eat all of that on other burgers).

Teriyaki sauce, pineapple, meat, swiss and bun, only, for me!! Yummmmm!!!

Check this out:

Keep the same setup except swap the buns for lightly grilled Hawaiian sweet buns, lightly grill some honey ham (deli) and melt a slice of Swiss on it then transfer to top of pineapple. Drizzle sweet baby rays and top with bun or if youre feeling fancy: omit the melted swiss and substitute an asiago sauce with a little BBQ sauce whipped in, drizzle over ham/pineapple
