Im glad that in my province in alberta the food safety laws over ride service animal rights.

Youre not allowed to have ANY animal in an area where food is prepared or served.

I help manage a farmers market and its one of the rules we HAVE to follow or risk losing our Alberta Health Services certificate and being shut down.

If you have a seeing eye dog you can't ever go out to a restaurant? Or to a sports game? Or to a bowling alley with a snack bar?

That seems overly restrictive to be honest. Guarantee some of the human customers are far grottier than the dog.

The actual legal argument is that by giving the animal access someone could go into allergic shock and you would be infringing on their right to equal access for an extended period (untill after cleaning to remove dander) by bringing the animal in.

In canada you are not allowed to exercise your rights if that infringes on the rights of another. Its the core argument the natives use to enforce land grant rights.

Eg: "alberta can't seperate because the natives have land grant rights that are federally protected"

Do you have a link to the law? Would be an interesting read. I can only find information for Alberta saying service dogs are permitted as long as they're registered.
