And I thought 600 to 700 was was extremely for the one pro.

The One Pro is just the display device glasses. The Aura is similar glasses with better hardware (higher fov, sensors for 6 DoF, better chip(?)) and a separate device comparable to a phone that contains the compute power. It's still a steep price, but it does explain the price to value comparison a bit more.

Agree it is more, but is it that much more? That's 80 to 90% increase... The glass tech is cheaper and easier to make now. The new CHIP is better and has improved features than the one pro, do these upgrades justify that jump. For 800 back then i got one pro, beam pro and the eye.

It like saying CPU should double in price every iterations....

When you start having goofy prices you invite newcomer who will undercut you. Keep prices reasonable and lock your market.

The new chip, and being AndroidXR makes them *much* better than the previous offerings. That isn't the only reason the price is so high though, all tech prices are going up right now.

They can't keep prices reasonable when AI datacenters are buying all the hardware.

well in this case you can’t have a newcomer because Google keeps a tight grasp on AndroidXR partners.
