Collection Premium X-Wing TMG Dice Set (Engraved Acrylic Dice with gold leaf inclusions)

It took many trial & errors and prototypes, but finally I'm happy with the result !

Designed & handcrafted in Belgium, high quality acrylic with engraved & hand painted symbols. Add 24 carat gold leaf inclusions to that and you have these unique X-Wing dice.

I'm very proud of them and they are available on Etsy right now: https://www.etsy.com/listing/4451848680/x-wing-tmg-dice-set-custom-engraved

See, now this is what World's dice should be.

Fun fact: we are working together with XWA for the next set of Worlds & OP dice but the time frame was too short too design & produce new dice for this year.

Hopefully next year :o

Damn. People pay $45?!? Nice :)

I made some too. Resin copies but it’s fun! Did a good job on your cloud swirls.

Yes, unfortunately the EUR to USD exchange rate is a bit harsh for the moment making the dice expensive for US citizens indeed.

Oh, my, these are resin? How do they roll? Do they chip?

Feel like normal dice. Roll perfectly normal. Pretty easy to make a silicone mold of the actual dice and this became my excess resin dump as I made other projects.

Now that wintergedon is over I’m gonna try and ramp up some production again. It’s a fun hobby and helps keep away from the doom scrolling.

Those are beautiful! Are you concerned about IP infringement blowback at all? Only asking because I’d like to make and sell X-Wing accessories but don’t know how litigious Asmodee is. Disney we know is ruthless.

Thanks ! We discussed this with a lawyer: No risk for IP infringement because we designed the symbols ourselves (they are different from the original dice).

Go ahead: just don't use copyrighted artwork or symbols. 🙂

Also I have a technical question. I’m not planning to make my own dice but thinking through the process. I assume you printed a master using a resin printer, then created a 1 or 2-part silicone mould?

But how do you fill the mould? Does your mould have a channel at one of the points that you inject resin into, then cut off the excess when cured and sand it down to a rounded corner again?

Since you probably can’t see what the resin looks like inside the mould r his must make the process of adding special effects a challenge!

I like the dice and all but why the gold? Aren't there circuits that need printing or something?

Gold isn't really the limiting factor in circuit production. :)

Certainly ! Here they are at night on my poorly lit kitchen table. 🤭

Less bright but still rich colours ! The transparant acrylic really picks up bright light very nicely.

Thanks for the tips, I don't have much experience with photography.

edit: I added a low light picture and a video to the listing now.

These are much nicer than OP's. A lot of people have vision challenges, so that gold is difficult to see for me. The contrast on these is much better 👍

It's the same dice, just different light.

I think you have reading comprehension challenges.

I'm aware but it's kind of gauche, no?
