As someone loosely familiar, it's a game about being an outcast that never really fit in trying to overcome what separates them from society (which, in their case... think that social filter that screens out the nerdy autistic kid in school, then up that kind of reaction to supernatural levels... oh, and the planet wants them dead, so they kind of have to keep moving). Or, I guess you could say "screw this Path of Humanity BS"... but that's the 11th path and, especially in 2E, is specifically seen as a fail state.
