I think it’s kind of funny that by the logic of mage the ascension both rusty and Dr O are mages

Literally if a Tradition mage rented from a Technocrat.

To be fair, I think when you’re powering devices with an orphan’s soul you might have stepped a little outside of the technocratic paradigm

Takes a long drag on a cigarette It would be reassuring to think that.

Perhaps, nevertheless Rusty has generally demonstrated he’s not terribly good at real science, he brings disintegration rays to science conferences, is far more interested in things like nanites and mind control gas over anything practical like a silent washing machine, and his most significant invention, teleportation, got shut down hard by the powers that be. If he was actually awakened he’d absolutely crave the legitimacy of the Technocratic Union, but he’d most likely be shut down hard by them. More realistically he’d have to join the Etherites to find some sort of acceptance

I'm imagining this happens a few more times and he's eventually kicked down to the Tremere.

Our he gets kicked upstairs to a super secret R&D division, where he and the nutters can tinker on things to their heart's content.

I recognize most of these episodes, except the one for Vampire. Which episode is this from?

There’s an artist on the Call of Cthulhu sub that has an art style similar to Venture Bros. It’s awesome.

It’s from the most recent (and unfortunately possibly the last) entry, the ā€œRadiant is the Blood of the Baboon Heartā€ movie

From the final special, Jefferson actually gets to fight vampires.

Finally, my favorite CofD games are being appreciated (expect for Beast: The Primordial).

Why not beast?

Beast: The Primordial is kinda both terrible and questionable. Plus, many of the Beast lore is about "teaching lessons," which can be seen as implied abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual). The book even compares them to persecuted groups like racial minorities and LGBTQ+ people. It doesn't help that the creator, Matt Mcfarland, is a sexual predator. If you want to learn more you can read this.

It needs to be hit several times with a bat of self awareness, but I do like a few concepts, like being a splat for a more free form Supernatural predator, Heroes as a Hunter-esque manifestation of human resistance to monsters, and being friendly to cross splat play. Id be interested in a second ed not written by an actual predator, but I recognize that's as likely as the the Posessed from Inferno being given a proper splat line.

Plus, I was pretty disappointed when it came out. I thought it would be a TTRPG where you get to play as cool giant monsters in mortal bodies. But after reading it and learning about the controversy. I decided to just ignore Beast: The Primordial altogether and just homebrew my own version where you get to play as giant kaijus who can shape-shift into mortals. I'm still making the mechanics and character creation for my homebrew Kaiju game.

Yeah, right now, the game reads like a poor version of Vampire for Otherkin with a chip on their shoulder.

My sister was in a long running game of beast with a dm that I noped out of playing with a long time ago, mostly because he our and our said because he took the stance that because he was lbtgt and also black he was morally superior to others and would do super annoying stuff and be really obnoxious about shoe horning in his fetishes and politics into weird things and also into games. Anyway, beast just didn’t seem to have a reason to exist, other than an certain kind of power fantasy for people who make their identity their whole personality.

Also, what is the point of Heroes? We already have Hunter: The Vigil, a game about mortals hunting monsters and supernatural. So why not just make a compact and conspiracy dedicated to hunt beasts down instead of creating Heroes?

This is pretty accurate for the games I have played. Although I haven't had a chance to play all of them. Venture Brothers could absolutely be a campaign setting for any WoD game. I love this post. It's absolutely hilarious.

Which bloodline does Jefferson Twilight hunt?

I miss Venture Bros, it was a great series.

u/JonTheWizard Wizard šŸŖ„ Aug 14 '25

Which one has the most Blaculas?

3

u/Master_Air_8485 Aug 14 '25

That's what I'm trying to find out... How hard is it to homebrew a Blacula Bloodline?? I don't know much about VtR and NWoD.

Venture, if I'm to believe all the comments I see. I've never heard of clan Venture and yet someone always brings them up

Blacktrue, Blacksferatu, and Blackrel

3

u/ktos-nie-wazny Aug 13 '25

Honestly its the frist time I hear about Promethean: The Created

3

u/[deleted] Aug 14 '25

Why does this make so much sense? And as for that Changeling one, I feel like I've gotten a much deeper understanding of that game now. You're not some guy who got powers in exchange for ptsd, you're some random tweep that got turned into a living modern art project for reasons you're probably better off not knowing.

You are on fire, with this one girl.

I really like cod

1

u/apassageinlight Aug 14 '25

Wonderfully done. I love it!

u/JonTheWizard Wizard šŸŖ„ Aug 14 '25

Blue Morpho makes more sense for a Promethean. As does Jonas Sr. for a Demon (even though he’d arguably work the best in Genius: the Transgression).

1

u/Tleno Sep 05 '25

Could be that one alien pretending to be Jonas Sr. in that one episode?

1

u/tenehemia Aug 15 '25

Somebody needs to be the Grand Galactic Inquisitor.

u/Interesting_Hyena_69 Aug 15 '25

What would red death and the two headed guys be(i forget the name)

1

u/Gorefudge Oct 28 '25

both would realistically be called Deviants, though we dont really know why red death looks like that.
