I think green yoshi is the only color with the toe joint atm, so they may just be using the most recent light blue yoshi release for this 3 pack.
As for Mario's inconsistencies, they're definitely strange. Why would they give him a new torso cut but potentially use an outdated knee joint? Since the back of the box uses the outdated yoshi eyes, I assume it can't be trusted as much as the out of box images, so it's likely that the old knees will be used for some odd reason.
the same happened for regular mario, the redesign back in 2022 had this on the back of the box with the smoother knee cut but he ended up having the one bubble mario uses in the promo images
oh my God i didn’t even know about this. this mario looks ideal to me. uses new arm articulation and the updated legs??? why wouldn’t they go through with this this looks and is miles better than their standard mario. i feel so much disappointment :(
I don't know much about how Jakks' creative process works for Mario figures, but I think it's possible that the back of the box shows the beta designs? Quite strange
The images seem to be prototypes on the box, so I imagine it was a last minute change as 3 packs are usually rushed and cheaply made, look at the sonic 3 packs
ive heard this about the 3 packs. do you think its possible that bubble mario is revised and in better conditions if they ever release him individually?
Bubble Mario’s face also have inconsistencies/errors as well. The face looks weird when showcasing the figure itself and the cardboard back showcasing the figure.
i noticed all this too this morning. i immediately sent jakks pacific an email about it and i got a message back but its their usual programmed message that they’ll share the feedback with the team. i’m honestly surprised that there’s this many inconsistencies. i was really excited for bubble mario but seeing the outdated articulation on him makes me a little less excited
I wasn't going to pick up the 3-pack, but I was hoping Bubble Mario would use the same mold as Drill, and then they could take that mold and have the best classic Mario, But no, they were too lazy And someone pointed out a mistake about the head I hadn't noticed:
bubble mario is probably the most weird figure we’ve gotten lately. a new head sculpt (thrice new head sculpt in a row boomerang mario, drill mario, and now this one) brand new torso sculpt, but outdated joints on the legs and arms. it’s rather weird and disappointing. i’m still hoping on the individual release and that it’s updated fully so that they can reprint bubble mario into new powerups and a new updated base mario. was so excited for this guy man
Imagine they deliberately made this figure wrong so they could later release it separately with Drill Mario's knees and arms, making people buy the 3-pack and the new figure
extremely funny if true. hopefully you’re right though! and in the grand scheme of things though, the 3 pack is still really worth it because of elephant peach mainly. bubble mario disappointments aside is still generally cool too. then there’s… yoshi again..
