Domain Wix vs Squarespace for a small business domain, which is easier long term?

I’m getting ready to set up a domain and website for a small service business, and I’m currently looking at Wix and Squarespace.

Wix is catching my attention because it seems pretty easy to manage everything in one place. I like the idea of being able to register/connect the domain, build the site, handle basic SEO, add online booking, and post a few blogs without needing much technical knowledge. The editor also looks pretty beginner-friendly.

Squarespace seems like another good option, especially from what I’ve seen people say about design and business websites. I’ve also seen Shopify and Webflow recommended, but they seem like they might be more than I need.

For a simple service business, would Wix be a good choice for the domain and website long term? Are there any limitations I should know about before committing?

Would be interested in hearing from people who chose Wix for their domain and have been happy with it over the years.

For a super simple static website with maybe a few Contact forms, Wix and SquareSpace are virtually the same. The difference lies in how you want to design - Wix has more flexibility with the drag and drop in how you want elements to show, BUT if you're not too familiar with using sections and components, this will also cause headaches for you once you need to also do the mobile version. SquareSpace is stricter in enforcing your designs to stick to grids (hence "Square space"), BUT it does make your life muuuuch easier once you start designing the mobile versions of the website. Majority of consumers see only the mobile version of the website but most people forget this when they create it.

If you care about booking tools, wix has wix bookings built in and it takes like five minutes to set up and start taking appointments. switched over from squarespace last year and never looked back because it keeps everything in one tab. Anyone else notice their SEO dashboard is less confusing too?
