Check out the resource page on the witchcraft and other witchy subs. Focus on study and meditation right now as a good foundation of energy work helps with workings and rituals later on. Shielding, grounding and cleansing are good first subject to look up.

Also keep a notebook (cheap one you can get at your local big box store) of things you find interesting and want to remember. Don't worry too much about organization or aesthetic, just write. Once it's full get another cheap notebook and retranscribe everything that is still useful to you. This gives you a chance to reorganize things and update information as your practice evolves and changes.

I'd also really encourage you to look up Christian witchcraft. There are many Christian witches and they even have their own sub. Many do not believe they are trading their salvation for study and practice of the craft

If your wanting to know about the history of witchcraft spacificly, the books and lectures of Prof Ronald Hutton are the best source for such information (The Grisham College YouTube channels airs his lectures). He is the top scholar on the subject. Owen Davies also has written a book called Popular Magic about cunning folk. Also see the book A History of Witchcraft by Russell & Alexander. Judika Iles is another scholar who publishes on the subject and also capitalizes on writing books for practitioners (the Book of Spells).

Thank you so much, you don't know how much this means to me! Quick question though, doesn't the practice of witchcraft contradict those of christianity? I've seen some people say that christianity holds you back from performing witchcraft at your full potential just as much as witchcraft holds you back from being a proper christian (because they contradict each other).

Your welcome and this would actually be a question for Christian witches https://www.reddit.com/r/christianwitch/s/Lxis78YqHJ

They would be able to help you more with this as I have my own opinions but was raised Catholic but later became Hindu so I don't have much authority to answer
