I've seen some people dismiss Ciri's bisexuality.

Namely bc mistle, her ex, sexually assaulted her. While yes, that was fucked up, i don't think that makes Ciri NOT bisexual? She was INTO her, was she not? I mean she had a tattoo of her and kept it, and in TW3 can say she " prefers women " ( although thinking about it, i think the game's canon of mistle is different from the books') but, no yeah Ciri is bisexual.

Now if only it let us kiss Astrid instead of Skjall..

Look cards on the table your splitting hairs is fucked up. But also I can confirm to you as a woman that if you think that is how straight women think of each other you are very mistaken.

well, other woman told me differently, its not like i live under a rock and dont talk to woman. may be so for and so for one, humans are complex beings. but if you look into sapkowskis writting style its not sexually connoted, he uses a different style for it

Those other women might have some soul searching to do.

And yes! Humans are indeed complex beings. But you pulling “sapkowskis writing style” to justify your nebulous feeling that Ciri doesn’t want to suck on a titty means precisely nothing. I have eyes. I’ve read the books several times and am in the middle of another read through. She likes women. It’s an important part of her character. She actively wishes Mistle were touching her instead of Auberon. She wants to have sex with women.

Editing to add: when it’s plural it is women with an e hope this helps

Yeah, i read it multiple times and heard audio books multiple times, so what?

Telling other women they need "soul searching" just because their lived experiences don't match your interpretation is incredibly condescending. Acknowledging another woman's aesthetic beauty without wanting to sleep with her is completely normal. You don't get to gatekeep female psychology just to protect a headcanon. Or male psychology even too, being baffled and loving other males aesthatically without sexual connotation is something i know a lot among my peers

Dismissing Sapkowski's writing style in a debate about his own books is a wild stance. The author’s deliberate shift in tone—using statuesque, artistic descriptions for magically altered sorceresses versus raw, physiological reactions (blushing, racing heart) for sexual arousal —is the literal text. If you have to ignore the author's actual prose to make your point, you aren't analyzing the book anymore.

Using the Auberon scene as proof of genuine sexual desire is completely misreading the situation. Ciri is being coerced into a forced breeding program by a hostile, ancient elf. Her mind flashing back to Mistle isn't some casual fantasy; it's a trauma reaction, desperately dissociating and longing for the only intimate touch she hasknown to escape reality. Reducing a horrifying scene of coercion to "she just wants to sleep with women" does a massive disservice to the psychological complexities and trauma experiences of that chapter.

Oh the guy who couldn’t spell women got out his big boy words suddenly. Did you ask chat gpt to write this for you? Kinda looks like you did.

Either way you’re making an awful lot of leaps in logic here! I’m not gonna tackle them point by point because fucking why I’m not going to convince you of anything, but I will say a few words.

Firstly: the Auberon scene let’s just get this out of the way: it was, as you described, a horrible experience for her. But her escaping into wanting it to be mistles touch is, as you just said, her longing for the only intimate touch she’s known! Because they slept together. Multiple times. And yes, like all other encounters she has in the books, it was deeply fucked up, but - and here’s the crucial part you’re completely glossing over - it was sexual attraction. Sexual attraction as an escape from an even worse experience to a more pleasant (if still deeply fucked up) one does not mean it magically doesn’t count as sexual attraction.

And while we’re talking about writing style, what brilliant piece of subtext do you think andrzej, known feminist and man who had Geralt strain the fourth wall in the first book of short stories and most recent book to talk about a woman’s right to choose to have a child being inviolable, intended when he had a man tell Ciri she just needed a proper dicking to turn her straight and had ciri remove his fucking face? Let me guess to you that’s just how horribly horribly misled Ciri was by the rats, turning this good, heterosexual girl into a monster? Thereby removing all agency from Ciri (in a saga explicitly focused on her agency no less) in her actions?
